Enjoy the amenities of Beachland Park with the Beachland Adventures summer camp. This camp provides a personalized experience for children requiring greater assistance and/or the services of a nurse to enjoy camp activities. Campers join in theme-based activities, swimming, arts and crafts, music and sports. The camp is staffed by a Camp Director, Camp Nurse and 1:1 Aides having professional, academic and/or personal experience in the field of special needs. In the event of inclement weather, the camp will meet at the Elmwood Community Center. Transportation is provided to camp Mon.-Thurs for participants enrolled in West Hartford ESY. NEW THIS SUMMER! A Friday A.M. session will be offered for the weeks of ESY so campers can have a full day of fun!! Search Beachland Adventure A.M. when registering to add this option. No Camp July 5

BEACHLAND TEEN
This program is open to all teens but is designed to provide socialization and recreational opportunities for teens who have moderate special needs. Based at Beachland Park with a camper/staff ratio of 3:1, teens will enjoy daily swimming and activities including crafts, games, sports and a weekly outing to businesses at the Elmwood Shopping Center or the surrounding West Hartford region. Transportation is provided to camp Mon-Thurs for participants enrolled in West Hartford ESY. In the event of inclement weather, the camp will meet at the Elmwood Community Center. No Camp July 5

iCAN BIKE 2021

The Miracle League of CT with cooperation from the West Hartford Leisure Services Department is proud to continue to offer an innovative program in West Hartford to benefit children and adults with special needs ages 8 and above. iCan Bike is a unique one week program that uses adapted bicycles and teaching methods that enable those who have been previously unable to ride a bicycle to become independent 2-wheel bicycle riders. Registration will open March 15, 2021 for the July 26th – July 30th program.

IMPORTANT CAMP DATES AND DETAILS
• Please contact Dani Brown at dani.brown@westhartfordct.gov to discuss placement and the registration process.
• NEW online registration will be available for Beachland Adventures or Beachland Teen.
• To allow time to hire and train necessary staff, all camp registrations must be finalized no later than Friday, June 11th
• All medical forms must be completed and submitted no later than Friday, June 19th.
Campers will not be allowed to attend camp if paperwork isn’t completed and no refunds will be given for missed days.
• The arrangement of bus transportation between summer school and various camp locations is the responsibility of the parent. Please contact the Transportation Office directly at (860) 561-6647 with any questions. Transportation schedules are set well in advance of camp.
• For those families that qualify, financial aid is available through the Leisure Services
Scholarship Fund to cover up to 50% of 2 weeks of camp. Please contact the
Department of Leisure Services at 860-561-7510 to get additional information and to request an application. This fund is limited, so please apply early.
