WESTMOOR PARK FAMILY FIREFLY HIKE
All Ages • 8:30 - 9:30P LOCATION: WESTMOOR PARK
All participants must be registered. All children must be accompanied by a registered adult. Join Westmoor Park Naturalists as we take a hike at sunset. We will be on the lookout for summer fireflies. We will also listen for owls, search for “night-shift” mammals, and explore the woods after the sun goes down. Dress to be outdoors. Westmoor Park is a great spot for migrating birds. We’ll walk each week, observing the progression of spring while finding an array of migrating birdlife - especially warblers. Please dress according to the weather. Register for all five sessions! Instructor: Larry Lunden

WESTMOOR PARK FAMILY FISHING FESTIVAL
All Ages • 9:00A - 12:00P LOCATION: FERNRIDGE PARK
Join us at Fernridge Park for this fun festival focused on learning how to fish. You may bring your own bait (lures, flies, worms, etc.) or buy worms at the Festival. Upon arrival, please check in at the registration table. Children must be accompanied by a supervising adult. Adults with a valid fishing license may fish, too. There will be learning stations to explore, games, casting lessons, and fishing for the whole family! Bring your own gear for a fun morning at Fernridge Park. This event is free, but please pre-register.

WESTMOOR PARK FAMILY FRESHWATER FISHING CLASS
Age 8 and up • 6:30 - 8:30P LOCATION: WESTMOOR PARK
Learn to fish. Families and individuals age eight and up are welcome to attend this unique program that is part of the CT DEEP CARE (Connecticut Aquatic Resources Education) program. The class is taught by certified volunteer instructors and it’s FUN! All course material and fishing tackle is provided for class use. The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, Fisheries Division sponsors this terrific program so it’s FREE to participants, but pre-registration is required. Individuals who register for this class will automatically be registered for the Family Fishing Festival on Saturday May 1st. Participation in the Family Fishing event will serve as the class fishing trip so participants can practice what they’ve learned.
