BUENA VISTA ADVENTURE CAMP

Grades 6 – 8 • 8:30A – 4:30P LOCATION: VETERANS MEMORIAL RINK

The Buena Vista Adventure Camp is an action-packed program for middle school students (entering grades 6-8) that includes all the amenities of the Buena Vista Recreation Complex and more. Activities include swimming, ice skating, basketball, soccer, flag football and various outdoor activities. Two age specific field trips each week. Field trips may include, but are not limited to, laser tag, batting cages, Yard Goats baseball, bowling, mini golf and amusement parks. Indoor activities will be planned in the event of rain or excessive heat. Each camper will receive a t-shirt. Campers will be supervised at all times by camp counselors. The Funtastic Summer Camp program has been a staple in West Hartford Parks for close to three decades! Join our enthusiastic and dedicated staff for daily activities, arts and crafts, swimming, field trips, Red Cross certified swim lessons, special events and make your own Sundaes on Fridays. The newly-re-imagined program is focused on adding flexibility for parents in today’s busy world with one week sessions. *Flexible drop off: any time after 8 a.m. with activities beginning at 8:30 a.m. Instructor: Leisure Services Staff. ECC THEATER CAMP

Age 6 – 12 • 8:30A – 4:30P LOCATION: ELMWOOD COMMUNITY CENTER

Campers will enjoy a full-day camp focused around theater while also participating in traditional creative and fun-filled camp activities including swimming at Beachland Park, arts & crafts, and dance. We emphasize a non-competitive and caring environment to help your camper grow. Each session introduces theater games, improvisation exercises, creative movement and dance, along with designing and creating props, scenery and costumes. Each session will conclude on the final Friday with a special production to showcase our camper’s creativity and hard work. Pizza lunch is provided on Fridays. An Extended Day AM & PM option is available for an additional fee. (See page 11). Instructor: ECC Staff. *No Camp: 7/5.

WESTMOOR PARK: FARM & NATURE SUMMER CAMP

Age 6 - 13 • 8:30A – 4:00P LOCATION: WESTMOOR PARK

Farm & Nature Day camp is designed for children entering grades 1 through 7. Participants will be divided into groups by age. This full-day Camp program provides environmental education through hands-on adventure. Days are spent outdoors exploring the park. In the barnyard and gardens, campers will groom and feed the amazing animals, do chores in the barn, and plant and harvest vegetables. Nature activities include insect adventures, exploring the pond, crafts, outdoor learning, swimming at Eisenhower pool on Wednesday afternoons, and Fun Fridays with hayrides and special games. In addition, campers will have opportunities to enjoy activities related to special weekly themes listed below. An Extended Day Option is available for an additional fee. (See below.) BUSY BEES CAMP

Age 3 - 5 • 8:30A – 4:30P LOCATION: ELMWOOD COMMUNITY CENTER

Keep your busy little bees active this summer! Come learn and play with us in a fun, interactive and educational setting. Each week will feature theme days, arts and crafts, outside play, songs, stories, free play, water play and so much more! In this hands-on camp, your child will gain social skills and confidence while making new friends. Campers will rest/nap after lunch each day, so please pack a blanket or special stuffed animal as well as a peanut-free lunch. (All children must be toilet trained by the first class.)
