aadiq was the star of the Positive Vibrations Festival back in 2011. Now he’s back in Poland to charm the audience with his velvety voice and glam stylizations. Known for ‘full-of-vibe’ live performances, Saadiq has so far played with Macy Gray, Snoop Dog, Whitney Houston, Angie Stone and many more besides. He’s also done a tour with Prince: “Next thing I knew I was in Tokyo, in a stadium, singin’ Erotic City,” says the Oakland-born legend. “We were in huge venues with the biggest sound systems in the world; all these roadies throwin’ me basses, and a bunch of models hangin’ round Prince to party. A multitalented composer, vocalist and producer, Saadiq mixes retro R&B, funk, hip hop and soul into his very own musical salsa. Not by chance his music path began at the age of six - since then he’s been playing the bass, drums and guitar, all the time fighting to ignore a tragic past which included the premature death of four siblings. Saadiq’s first solo album, Instant Vintage, was nominated five times for a Grammy. His latest album, Stone Rollin, is, according to the man himself, “a throwback-artist-with-a-futuristic-twist”. Find him playing bass, melotron, keys, guitar, percussion and even drums on most of its tracks - with highlights including the gritty-rockin’ single Radio; the pounding, Sly Stone-influenced Heart Attack; and the urgently spiritual, choir-assisted Go To Hell. Keep an ear out for them at this concert. Tickets from zł. 90 to zł. 250. (AJ)
