A 1.5 km introductory trail (free of charge) at the top of Mont Lachat. Can be reached from Crest-Voland via La Logère chairlift or via Le Cernix lift; also possible to follow the road from Les Saisies for 4.5 km. Parking at La Croix des Ayes.
Crest-Voland offers a permanent sledging track at the top of its ski area, directly opposite Mont Blanc, offering a 400m change in altitude and 20 minutes ride down to the bottom of the slopes in the resort. In Crest- Voland, sledging is laughter assured!

PIOU-PIOU CLUB For children from 3 years and up. The children are looked after in 2 snow gardens, one in the village and the other at Le Mont Rond, both of them at the foot of the ski slopes. All of the instructors are qualified to offer educational and fun lessons to kids. Each garden is equipped with a baby drag lift, a travelator, figurines and games, offering a secure space that contributes both to the reassurance of the parents and enjoyment of the children. Each child can take a test at the end of the week and win a medal that corresponds with their level. The ESF’s principal aim is to help them discover the joys of skiing whilst having fun. SNOWBIKE OR SKI BOB In Crest-Voland Cohennoz, Notre Dame de Bellecombe and Flumet/St Nicolas la Chapelle Known either as skibob or skibike, this piece of kit is easy to handle and accessible to everyone. It is winning lots of followers in the resorts of the Espace Diamant: with 2 separate blades, one under the fork of the handlebars and the other under the frame, it is steady when taking corners, skidding and curving. Sitting comfortably on your snowbike, you will quickly feel at ease. The Val d’Arly is organising a Skibob World Cup from 1 to 3 February 2018!

In Notre Dame de Bellecombe In Crest-Voland / Cohennoz Check out this thrilling sledge ride, for some enjoyable fun with family or friends! Between the ages of 10 and 77 years, the SnakeGliss activity is open to anyone who is physically able to ride a standard sledge. The sledges, all of them exactly the same, are attached one after the other to form a long line that is piloted and supervised by an expert. In total safety, the sledge train snakes its way over the ski slopes.
THE CRESTVOLUGE: A 2KM SLEDGING SLOPE In Crest-Voland / Cohennoz One slope dedicated entirely to sledging. Facing Mont Blanc, the start point is at 1600 m altitude and the slope covers a change in height of 400 m with raised bends and different gradients to please both young and old alike! See p11.

LA FONDATION FACIM : “HAUTE CULTURE POUR TOUS”
Since 2006, the Val d’Arly is part of the Pays d’Art et d’Histoire des Hautes Vallées de Savoie, along with the Maurienne, Tarentaise and Beaufortain valleys.
The Pays d’Art et d’Histoire des Hautes Vallées de Savoie is managed by the Fondation pour l’Action Culturelle Internationale en Montagne (Fondation FACIM). With support from the Savoie Conseil Général, its mission is to enhance Savoie’s heritage. It also has the job of encouraging new projects in the area. Staffed by 30 or so official guides, it provides a year round cultural programme in the Val d’Arly.
It is a nationwide label, awarded by the Ministère de la Culture, which pledges a standard of quality, interest and enhancement of cultural heritage. The label marks the Valley’s commitment to knowledge, conservation, mediation and architectural enhancement of the local environment. All the elements of Val d’Arly’s identity are brought together in this process of cultural, social and economic development. The awareness of local residents of their own environment is an important part of the process. The label aims to give locals ownership of their heritage. At the same time, involving younger people should help with the transmission of this heritage to future generations. Through the enhancement of cultural sites and architecture, a more diverse and rich cultural offer is available to visiting tourists. Museums, churches, folk groups: see each resort’s “visits” page.
