PIOU-PIOU CLUB For children from 3 years and up. The children are looked after in 2 snow gardens, one in the village and the other at Le Mont Rond, both of them at the foot of the ski slopes. All of the instructors are qualified to offer educational and fun lessons to kids. Each garden is equipped with a baby drag lift, a travelator, figurines and games, offering a secure space that contributes both to the reassurance of the parents and enjoyment of the children. Each child can take a test at the end of the week and win a medal that corresponds with their level. The ESF’s principal aim is to help them discover the joys of skiing whilst having fun. Known either as skibob or skibike, this piece of kit is easy to handle and accessible to everyone. It is winning lots of followers in the resorts of the Espace Diamant: with 2 separate blades, one under the fork of the handlebars and the other under the frame, it is steady when taking corners, skidding and curving.
Sitting 20 cm above the ground, the yooner provides a very different sort of sliding experience. Light and easy to use, it is equipped with a shock absorber for comfort and a skate to “carve” just like on skis. The paret predates the yooner, a real old-fashioned sledge made by craftsmen.

In Flumet / St Nicolas la Chapelle Located on the heights of Flumet, the "animal hide-and-seek" course of Lake Evettes invites young and old to discover the fauna of the mountain through a fun and informative ride. At the edge of the path, silhouettes of animals complete the decor by offering different fun and informative information to enrich the mountain culture of small adventurers and great explorers. This 2 km loop is accessible to all from Les Evettes. For the full turn, count 40 minutes.

LA FONDATION FACIM : “HAUTE CULTURE POUR TOUS”
Since 2006, the Val d’Arly is part of the Pays d’Art et d’Histoire des Hautes Vallées de Savoie, along with the Maurienne, Tarentaise and Beaufortain valleys.
The Pays d’Art et d’Histoire des Hautes Vallées de Savoie is managed by the Fondation pour l’Action Culturelle Internationale en Montagne (Fondation FACIM). With support from the Savoie Conseil Général, its mission is to enhance Savoie’s heritage. It also has the job of encouraging new projects in the area. Staffed by 30 or so official guides, it provides a year round cultural programme in the Val d’Arly.
It is a nationwide label, awarded by the Ministère de la Culture, which pledges a standard of quality, interest and enhancement of cultural heritage. The label marks the Valley’s commitment to knowledge, conservation, mediation and architectural enhancement of the local environment. All the elements of Val d’Arly’s identity are brought together in this process of cultural, social and economic development. The awareness of local residents of their own environment is an important part of the process. The label aims to give locals ownership of their heritage. At the same time, involving younger people should help with the transmission of this heritage to future generations. Through the enhancement of cultural sites and architecture, a more diverse and rich cultural offer is available to visiting tourists. Museums, churches, folk groups: see each resort’s “visits” page.
