NEW STUDENT EXPERIENCE CHECKLIST See what steps you’ve already taken and how to stay on track for NSE. This checklist is for new freshmen. Transfer students, please visit go.uwplatt.edu/nse-checklist-transfer-plt. AVAILABLE NOW  Accept your admission in your PASS account.  Start your NSE; visit go.uwplatt.edu/start-nse-guide for instructions. y Choose to attend On-Campus Orientation or opt out of orientation. y You are encouraged to add the names of up to two guests who will attend your On-Campus Orientation with you. y Add contact information for any family members who want to receive communication about NSE. REGISTER FOR CLASSES  Complete Placement Tests. y Check your To-Do List in PASS to determine what tests you are required to take. y These must be completed at least two weeks before your advising appointment. y Not completing your Placement Tests in time will delay your advising and registration appointment.  Access your University of Wisconsin-Platteville email (starting in Nov. 2023). y Visit go.uwplatt.edu/access-email to learn how to access your UW-Platteville email. y If you have questions about your email account or setting up Duo Two-Factor Authentication, look for an email sent to your personal email with the subject line, “UW-Platteville Email Access”. y Make sure you check your email often, and read carefully.  Watch your UW-Platteville email for information from your academic advisor (starting in Dec. 2023). y Schedule your academic advising appointment using the link in an email from your advisor. y Complete required Canvas modules about the registration process before meeting with your advisor. They will provide you the link to enroll in the Canvas course.  Meet with your academic advisor to register for classes (starting in Dec. 2023). y Remember to schedule your appointment using the link in the email you receive from your advisor. y Your advisor will review your Placement Test results and what they mean during your advising appointment. ATTEND ON-CAMPUS ORIENTATION  Attend On-Campus Orientation on Jan. 19, 2024. y Meet new friends. y Learn about campus resources and student involvement. y Participate in interactive sessions about different majors and academic experiences. y Have your photo taken for your Campus Card. y At the end of the day, grab your Campus Card and a cool gift. y Parents and guests will also have a full day of activities. Encourage up to two family members to attend with you.  Check out the On-Campus Orientation schedule at go.uwplatt.edu/orientationschedule GET READY FOR CLASSES TO START  Purchase a parking pass. y If you are planning to bring a car to campus, watch your UW-Platteville email for information on purchasing parking passes.  Sign your Textbook Agreement in PASS.  Complete the online Mandatory Prevention Course facilitated by the Dean of Students Office. A link will be sent to your UW-Platteville email.  Learn about getting involved. y Search for PioneerLink on the Pioneer Portal (portal.uwplatt.edu) to learn about our 180+ student organizations.  Participate in Welcome Activities during the first week of the semester.
