Wildstrubel by UTMB has now established itself as a landmark event on the international trail running calendar. As President of the Organizing Committee, I am honored to present this edition, which embodies both sporting excellence and the richness of our region.
Our ambition is clear: to offer athletes a unique experience in the heart of the Swiss Alps, while showcasing the exceptional landscapes and cultural heritage of the Valais and Bern cantons. The demanding and spectacular course passes through iconic sites such as Crans-Montana, Leukerbad, Kandersteg, and Adelboden, revealing the full diversity and beauty of our region.
For the media, Wildstrubel by UTMB represents an opportunity to cover an event that blends performance, authenticity, and innovation. This year, we are placing special emphasis on sustainability, inclusion, and the athlete experience, with strengthened measures in logistics, safety, and communication.
I would like to acknowledge the commitment of our partners, local communities, and the hundreds of volunteers who make this adventure possible. Their dedication reflects the strength of our local network and our shared determination to make Wildstrubel shine far beyond the summits.
"Wildstrubel by UTMB is the alliance between the grandeur of the Alpine landscapes and the power of the collective. Every step in the mountains is a story we write together." We invite you to discover, share, and experience this edition with us. Through your reports, images, and interviews, you contribute to making Wildstrubel by UTMB an inspiring showcase of modern trail running.

Some key figures for this edition:
• Over 6,500 runners expected
• Representing more than 80 nationalities
• 5 races formats for all levels, plus dedicated kids’ races
• Nearly 500 volunteers mobilized across the region
Launched in 2022 in Crans-Montana, Wildstrubel by UTMB® is far more than a race — it’s a celebration of mountain culture, human endeavour, and wild beauty.
Nestled in the Swiss Alps between the cantons of Valais and Bern, the Wildstrubel massif offers an exceptional playground with its breathtaking views, lofty ridgelines, untouched valleys and technical trails that wind through authentic, welcoming villages.
Each year runners from across the globe are drawn to this extraordinary setting — ranging from 1,000 to over 3,000 metres in altitude — to take on the challenge, and experience the emotion of crossing the finish line in Crans-Montana.
Soutenu par la Collectivité européenne d’Alsace et la Région Grand Est
Deeply rooted in the local territory, Wildstrubel by UTMB® is powered by the spirit of the region. It takes place in close collaboration with the communities, volunteers and local partners who bring this adventure to life.
Wildstrubel by UTMB® is organised by Trail Valais, a non-profit association based in the heart of the canton of Valais. Driven by a team of dedicated trail running enthusiasts, the association is deeply rooted in the local territory. Its mission?
To promote trail running across Valais by showcasing the region’s extraordinary natural heritage, rich cultural identity, and vibrant local communities.
In joining the UTMB World Series, the Trail Valais association set out with two key ambitions:
- To give runners from Valais the opportunity to collect Running Stones close to home.
- To share the magic of Wildstrubel and the beauty of its landscapes with the global trail running community brought together by the UTMB circuit.
A Tour of the Wildstrubel mountain range:
With four race distances ranging from 20K to 100M, Wildstrubel by UTMB® invites runners on an epic journey through the northern Swiss Alps, tracing a full loop around the Wildstrubel massif.
It is the only event — alongside the HOKA UTMB Mont-Blanc — to offer a complete loop of a mountain range.
Each race offers the chance to experience the massif in a different way: the full circuit, threequarters, half, or a quarter loop.
For its fourth edition, Wildstrubel by UTMB® promises a 100% wild adventure.
All four race formats that award Running Stones — from 20K to 100M — will finish in Crans-Montana.
Additional formats — including Wild Kids, Wild NextGen, Handi-Sport and the Joëlette Race — ensure that everyone can be part of this celebration of sport.

To promote fairness and inclusivity for women in trail running, the UTMB World Series has introduced targeted measures to ensure its races meet the specific needs of female athletes by offering services that support their participation and enhance their race-day experience.
At Wildstrubel by UTMB, the following initiatives will be in place:
• Menstrual products and personal hygiene items will be available at all aid stations for any athlete who may need them.
• Separate and appropriate facilities, including dedicated WCs and changing areas for women and men, will be provided to ensure a respectful and comfortable environment for all.
In addition, UTMB Group has put a Pregnancy Policy in place across all UTMB World Series events. Designed to be flexible and supportive, this policy applies to pregnant athletes, athletes whose partner is pregnant, and those undergoing adoption or surrogacy procedures.
Découvrir la Politique de Grossesse
As part of Wildstrubel by UTMB®, a group of federal parliamentarians from different parties, cantons, and linguistic regions will take on a symbolic sporting challenge: running the flagship race, the Wild 110, as a relay.
From September 19 to 20, 2025, these elected officials will swap suits and parliamentary debates for trail shoes and Alpine paths, demonstrating how the passion for sport brings people together. Each parliamentarian will cover a section of the course, ranging from 11 to 23 kilometers, before handing the baton to a colleague.
The political-sporting relay will unfold as follows:
1st leg (Crans-Montana – Leukerbad): Yvan Pahud (UDC)
2nd leg (Leukerbad – Kandersteg, featuring the legendary ascent of the Gemmi): Andreas Gafner (UDF)
3rd leg (Kandersteg – Adelboden): Andrea Zryd (PS), initiator of this collective adventure
4th leg (Adelboden – Lenk): Candan Hasan (PS)
5th leg (Lenk – Cabane Wildstrubel): Rémy Wyssmann (UDC) and Christophe Clivaz (Les Verts)
6th leg (Cabane Wildstrubel – Tseuzier): Christophe Clivaz (Les Verts)
7th leg (Tseuzier – Crans-Montana): Benjamin Roduit (PDC) and Yvan Pahud (UDC)
Beyond the sporting achievement, this relay is a powerful symbol of understanding and collaboration between political parties and linguistic regions. A strong message carried along the Alpine trails: sport and team spirit first.

•From its very first edition, Wildstrubel by UTMB has been a pioneer in eliminating disposable cups at aid stations by introducing the mandatory use of a reusable cup, preventing the waste of thousands of plastic cups each year.
•The BYOU (Bring Your Own Utensils) initiative further strengthened this approach by asking each runner to bring their own bowl and utensils, promoting self-sufficiency and reducing disposable tableware.
•Thanks to Näak, energy bars are provided in bulk rather than in individual packaging.
•Aid stations operate without plastic bottles: water and sodas are served in bulk, and 11 out of 12 stations are connected directly to the city’s drinking water supply via tap, completely avoiding plastic bottles.
•This measure helped avoid more than 18,000 bottles last year and significantly reduced the transport linked to bottled water. It will be maintained and expanded for the 2025 edition.

At 33, Stéphanie and Cynthia both battled breast cancer. Two different journeys, but one fight.
Their meeting at the end of 2024 marked a turning point. What began as a simple exchange grew into a friendship and soon became a shared strength. Trail running became their way of regaining control: breathing, pushing themselves, proving that the disease would not have the last word.
At 39, Jérémy will be taking part in the Wildstrubel by UTMB 50K, his first race abroad. Originally from Andlau in Alsace, a former industrial firefighter now retraining, he is currently preparing to open a trail running shop.
A runner since middle school, he discovered trail running in 2014 on a bet and has been racing ever since, notably in the Trail Alsace Grand Est by UTMB. But in 2021, a family tragedy revealed a genetic mutation that left him with two choices: live with a 95% chance of dying before the age of 40, or have his stomach removed.
Today, at 36 and 34, they compete in local races and will participate in the Wildstrubel 20K by UTMB. They have the same goal: to finish, despite the treatments, despite the fatigue. Their motto is simple: step by step, show that after the storm, life goes on.
He chose to have the operation in October 2023. Despite losing 25 kilos, extreme nutritional constraints, and the cautious advice of doctors, Jérémy returned to running in January 2024. He proved that he could run faster than before, at the cost of meticulous management. The Wildstrubel by UTMB represents a new milestone for him: twice the elevation gain of Alsace, spectacular Swiss terrain, and the UTMB atmosphere he loves. More than just
