The 2022-2023 cohort includes 30 participants from 27 schools coming from nine Asian countries. They were selected from a pool of qualified candidates from throughout Asia.

Program duration is August 2022 to June 2023, with adjustments on when it will actually end based on COVID-19-related travel restrictions.

Aquino is to attend the virtual Leadership Institute to be delivered by the Singapore Management University from August 2022 to March 2023, and attend in Singapore the weeklong Leadership Seminar, slated for next year.

The Fellow, as each Program participant is called, may choose to go on a Study Trip in the Philippines or in other Asian countries for “in-depth benchmarking” in higher education institutions.

The Fellows Program is a leadership development program for mid-career faculty and administrators from Asian colleges and universities. It seeks to provide opportunities for Fellows to be exposed to the latest leadership concepts and practices.

As well as developing the Fellows who are envisioned to lead Asian higher education institutions in the future, the United Board also aims to form networks among the Program participants and their respective institutions.

After completion of the Program, each grantee is deemed to advance wholeperson education, which puts emphasis on intellectual, spiritual, and ethical development within their home institutions.

Since 2002, nearly 300 Fellows from over 50 universities and colleges in 11 countries and regions of Asia have been selected for the program, a United Board document states.

The United Board is a nongovernmental organization registered in the United States and in Hong Kong. It describes itself as drawing strength from its Christian identity and values and its collaboration with Asian colleges and universities. USLWB
