TAI CHI, WEAPONS AND APPLICATIONS

Self Defense: Pushing Hands & Weapons July 16 - August 27 Monday, 7:00pm - 8:30pm MPR B This class will explore the applications of the t’ai-chi ch’uan form , specific training methods of pushing hands, san shou, chin-na, Red Boat Style and t’ai-chi sticky hands. Emphasis will be on practical techniques. No previous experience is necessary. Bring a waist high stick to class. UCR/IEP Students $62 Non-students $78

TAI CHI YANG STYLE, BEGINNING July 18 - September 5 Wednesday, 7:00pm - 8:00pm MPR B T’ai-chi ch’uan is a traditional Chinese martial art that has been shown to reduce stress, strengthen the immune system, lower blood pressure and improve balance. Students will receive a semi-private lesson to learn the twenty-eight movement form. This class is combined with the advanced class. UCR/IEP Students $56 Non-Students $78

TAI CHI YANG STYLE, ADVANCED Session I July 18 - August 8 Wednesday, 7:15pm - 8:45pm Session II August 15 - September 5 Wednesday, 7:15pm - 8:45pm MPR B Students should have at least one session of beginning t’ai chi ch’uan. This class covers the whole system including the Long Form, Pushing Hands, San Shou-Partner Form, Fast form and weapons. *No class July 4

TAI CHI WORKSHOP T’ai Chi Chien (Taijijien) T’ai Chi Straight Sword Form July 29 Sunday, 1:00pm - 3:00pm MPR C This is the traditional Yang style sword form, elegant and flowing as taught by Grandmaster Tchoung Ta-tchen. T’ai Chi Chien (Taijijien) Traditional Yang Style Straight Sword Form August 26 Sunday, 1:00pm - 3:00pm MPR C We will study the elegant and flowing traditional sword form as taught by Grandmaster Tchoung Ta-tchen and taught by certified Master instructor Harvey Kurland.
