Career opportunities Information Systems professionals play a key role in businesses and organisations because of the unique combination of their technological skills and in-depth knowledge of the management and performances of businesses. They generally hold positions at the point where management and technology intersect, in any area of the company (human resources, marketing, accountancy, procurements, etc.) or in Information Technology or Innovation departments. Because of their polyvalence, information systems professionals usually hold team management, consultancy or decision-making positions related to technology. The profile of future graduates will enable them to develop information systems, analyse systems, monitor and manage computer projects, create, manage and maintain databases, manage projects related to e-commerce and perform computer auditing. They will also be able to participate in the decision-making of the outsourcing or off-shoring of technologies, and their acquisition, management, assessment and implementation. The potential market for holders of these qualifications is therefore wide among companies in the information and communications technologies (ICTs) sector and any business that depends completely or partially on these technologies, including information systems consultancy, information systems feasibility studies, analysis and design of information systems and the development of information systems for both end users and companies.
