Type of Degree
An intermediate level of English is a minimum requirement for students wishing to study the Degree in English Studies. They should also be interested in the humanities, linguistics, culture and literature, have a good memory and a capacity for understanding and synthesis, be able to express themselves well in writing, and possess an aptitude for languages. They will need the capacity to reason and understand abstract thought, together with an interest in reading, and should be able to show imagination, creativity and the capacity for insight.
This is an officially recognised University Degree, valid throughout the European Higher Education Area.

Career Opportunities Graduates of the Degree in English Studies are equipped for professional practice in: w

Teaching (in secondary schools, adult education centres, lifelong learning centres and private language schools), translation and interpreting, publishing, the media, cultural foundations, etc. Literary and textual criticism, proofreading and literary editing in publishing. Graduates can also work as translators, information specialists, philologists, linguists, grammarians, newspaper reporters or collaborators, author, library and archive researchers, librarians, etc.
