Type of Degree
Those wishing to study the Degree in Telecommunication Systems Engineering should ideally have a solid grounding in science and technology, and a strong interest in Information and Communications Technology. As with all other Degree courses offered at the University of Alcalá, a good level of English is recommended. Future students should possess an aptitude for understanding abstract ideas and be attentive, perceptive, organised and methodical as well as showing a capacity for reasoning, analysis and synthesis. They should be enquiring, imaginative, innovative and practical.

Course contents This Degree is fundamentally aimed at providing a scientific, technical and socio-economic training in order to equip students for professional practice in the development, application and improvement of those technologies involved in communications systems which provide a support for the various services available, either fixed or mobile. The course consequently covers the following aspects: w Design of transmission and routing devices for telecommunications systems and radiofrequency components. w Analogue and digital signal processing. w Communication network architecture in fixed or mobile environments, whether personal, local or long-distance, with different bandwidths. w Assessment of the advantages and disadvantages of the various available technological alternatives for implementing telecommunications systems. w Conception, modelling, scaling and development of telematics services and applications. w Economics and management of human resources and projects, in addition to legislation, regulation and standardisation in telecommunications.
