Type of Degree

Students choosing to take a course in Tourism and Business Administration and Management must be good communicators, have a gift for languages and be interested in other cultures, economics and aspects related to the working of business and its management. No special knowledge is required, except for the knowledge provided by the standards leading to admission to the course. However, an interest in learning and social and political issues is necessary.

Some minimal skills of logical and numeric reasoning, abstraction, teamwork, communication, effort and concentration, and analysis and synthesis are advisable. These will all be developed during the course.

There are many very varied areas of professional development, and graduates will be able to work in any post related to management and administration of tourism companies in branches of tourism including Accommodation, Restaurants, Tourism Brokerage, Transport and Logistics, Planning and Management of Tourist Destinations, as well as Cultural Management and generally in any type of company. The entrepreneurial side of the future graduates’ nature is encouraged during the course, enabling them to embark on their own business, such as in the fields of consultancy and business advice.

Course contents The aim of the Joint Degree in Tourism and Business Administration and Management is to train professionals in business management, specialising in the tourism sector. To that end, they receive broad-based training in Business Economics, the Foundations of Economics, Applied Mathematics, Marketing, Accounting Systems, Company Law, Languages, Tourism Market Structure and Geography, among other subjects.
