Type of Degree
Student choosing to take a course in Business Administration and Management must be interested in economics and aspects related to the workings and management of business. No special knowledge is required, except for the knowledge provided by the standards leading to admission to the course. However, an interest in learning and social and political issues is necessary.
This is an officially recognised University Degree, valid throughout the European Higher Education Area.

Some minimal skills of logical and numeric reasoning, abstraction, teamwork, communication, effort and concentration, and analysis and synthesis are advisable. These will all be developed during the course.
Career opportunities The Bachelor’s Ddegree in Business Administration and Management provides students with professional skills that are in great demand in the labour market, which facilitates employment in the international labour market. Graduates are able to work at any level of management and administration in any type of business or organisation, or to embark on their own business. There are many highly varied areas for professional development in business: accounting and auditing, finances, business organisation and strategy, logistics, human resources, marketing and sales research. They can also work as business consultants or advisors, or as teachers. The degree also enables access to Spanish State and Autonomous Regional General Management and Specialist bodies, such as the Treasury Department’s Internal Revenue Service, the General State Auditors, and Social Security Specialist bodies. Graduates can also work in other official bodies such as the Bank of Spain, or the Insurance and Securities Office.

Access to Higher Degree programmes All graduates can continue their training by taking an Official Postgraduate course. The University of Alcalá has an extensive range of Master’s degrees and Doctorate courses that enable students to specialise in the professional areas that are most suitable for their profile. These Official Master’s degrees include those in Management and Change´s Management, Tourism Business Management, Financial Products and Markets, Applied Economic Analysis, etc.

In addition to a Degree qualification, students may obtain a “Special Mention” for one of the specialisations by successfully completing at least 30 credits from among the optional subjects pertaining to the specialisation. The exception is the specialisation in Economics, where students must take at least 24 credits from the obligatory subjects taught on the Degree in Economics programme.
