Fire and EMS Have A Busy Weekend
By Wade Thibodeaux   Fire and EMS crews had a busy weekend and that seems to be the pattern for the past couple of weeks. Crews responded to 13 calls from June 12, 2020 to June 15, 2020 including fires, wrecks, and medical calls. EMS crews have responded to three wrecks in the last two weeks at the same location on Highway 124 at Hebert Road(or in the close vicinity) including one horrific scene in which four young adults died as a result of a head on collision. EMS Coordinator Robert Falls advised his Board of Directors at a Monday evening meeting that he was manning an extra truck this weekend in anticipation of calls stemming from the beach traffic and the resulting accidents. Calls for assistance had slowed down due to the Covid-19 situation, but those calls have picked up drastically during the last few weeks as more people are getting This was one of the wrecks that occurred in the Hebert Road area of Highway 124 out and maneuvering and EMS and Fire crews are assisting an occupant of the overturned car as he around the roadways. climbs out of the vehicle.
