Whether you are seeking a larger property or looking to downsize, many TwinEagles residents choose to relocate within the community. Below is a brief overview of key considerations for this process
Properties in TwinEagles are deeded with membership, which is an important factor to keep in mind If you own two properties simultaneously before selling your original home, you will be responsible for all applicable dues and fees associated with both properties Additionally, you must sell your original property within 365 days of closing on the second property; otherwise, the initiation fee for the second membership will be required.
If the home you are purchasing is deeded with a different Membership type than your current home (e g , transitioning from a property with a Sports Membership to one with a Golf Membership), you would be responsible for the difference in initiation fees. We encourage you to review the full initiation fee policy for further details

It’s hard to believe we’re just days away from The Masters—and with it, the unofficial end of another golf season. But don’t worry, April is packed with exciting events to keep the momentum going!
We kick things off with the Men’s Invitational, now more fittingly called the Spring Invitational, as our Fall Member-Guest has taken its place on the calendar. With nearly 250 players registered, this promises to be a fantastic event. Following that, we have the Ladies’ and Men’s Closing Days on Thursday, April 10, and we’ll wrap up the month with the TwinEagles (TE) Cup on April 1617. A quick note—this year’s TE Cup is open registration, rather than a qualification event like last year, making it more accessible for everyone to join in the fun.
In the Golf Shop, our new Merchandise Manager, Becky Schlimm, is working hard to organize inventory and offer great deals before our snowbirds head north. Be on the lookout for spring sales and discounts it’s the perfect time to grab some gear!
Finally, whether you ' re looking to fine-tune your game or make major improvements, Tom Patri, Doc Suttie, and our entire Golf Professional TEAM are here to help. Keep reading to see what programs and lessons are available as you gear up for the Summer season.
Here’s to a great finish to the season and a fantastic month of golf!
9/18 Hole Stroke Play – Each person plays their own ball and records their score for each hole. Low total score wins.
9/18 Hole Match Play – Players compete against each other hole by hole. Low score wins the hole. The goal is to win the most holes.
“Makes” – Each player chooses a hole to putt to, 10-15 feet away. Choose a number of putts to try, or the amount of time to putt. The player that “makes” the most putts wins
“21” – 3 pts for a Make; 1 pt for 2-putt; -1 pt for a 3-putt. First player to 21 wins.
Alternate Shot (Partners) – Two players form a team to play another 2-player team. Players alternate putts, with one player hitting the first putt, then the other hitting the next, and so on. Can be played in Stroke or Match play format.
“Nines” (Threesomes) – Each hole is worth Nine Points. The player with the low score on a hole wins 5 pts, the second low score wins 3 pts, and the highest score wins 1 pt. If there is a tie for a score, the points are split (3-3-3/44-1/5-2-2). The player with the most points wins.
“Stymies” – No balls are marked or lifted. Hit another ball, add a penalty stroke to your score.
Skins – If one player has the lowest score on a hole, they win a Skin. If two or more players tie for the lowest score, the Skin is “carried over” to the next hole which is now worth 2 Skins.

BY: TOM PATRI, PGA DIRECTOR OF PLAYER DEVELOPMENT
Many recreational golfers struggle with the dreaded "overthe-top chop." This common mistake robs players of the key elements needed to produce a quality golf shot both in terms of distance and direction
This issue typically occurs when a golfer initiates the downswing by unwinding their shoulders before the lower body starts the forward swing sequence. This improper motion causes the arms and club to move outward rather than downward, which is the ideal movement. When I ask a student to "feel" their arms moving downward to begin the forward swing, I often see them respond with a fast, aggressive motion Ironically, this exaggerates the very problem we're trying to fix. At this point, I explain a crucial concept: Down is a direction, not a speed.
I also share a bit of wisdom from one of the greatest minds in history Sir Isaac Newton Newton’s principles teach us that gravity is the most consistent and repeatable force that can guide a proper downswing
Gravity provides two invaluable benefits to the start of any forward swing. First, it is perfectly consistent it always pulls downward (not outward, inward, or upward) without fail. Second, gravity naturally accelerates the club without any extra effort from the player This means the club will follow a shallower, more efficient path from the inside while maintaining smooth acceleration. Turns out, Newton would have made a pretty great golf instructor! It may sound overly simple but it works. Try this: Grab a spare 7-iron when you’re home tonight Before you swing, ensure your grip pressure is light (but not loose), and let your arms, neck, and upper body feel relaxed Swing the club to the top of your backswing. From there, simply allow your arms and the golf club to "free fall" as your body naturally transitions into the forward swing.
It’s important to understand that this "free fall" follows an inclined downward path. Because the golf club is built on an incline and your posture at address is also inclined the club will naturally follow a slanted plane as it falls.
If you allow these conditions to exist, gravity will handle the speed without any forced effort on your part

As the days grow longer and temperatures rise, our maintenance TEAM begins the seasonal transition in our agronomic practices Just as golfers adjust their approach to match changing course conditions, we too shift gears to ensure the best possible playing surfaces.
You may recall the video we shared last fall about the importance of solid roller configurations for our green mowers. Throughout the winter, we ’ ve been using smooth, solid rollers, which provide a gentler approach to mowing by maintaining surface consistency without excessive disruption to the turf canopy. However, with the arrival of warmer weather, it's time for a strategic change.
In the coming days, we will switch to Wiehle rollers on our green mowers. This adjustment may seem minor, but it plays a crucial role in maintaining the health and performance of our greens. Unlike solid rollers, Wiehle rollers are more aggressive, allowing the mower to nestle deeper into the turf canopy. This results in a cleaner, truer cut, which not only enhances ball roll but also encourages healthy turf growth as we move into the heart of the growing season
Beyond mowing adjustments, our Equipment Technicians are hard at work preparing for the intensive summer maintenance ahead. We are already stocking up on essential parts and aeration tines to ensure our cultural practices, such as aerification, can be executed efficiently and effectively These proactive steps are critical in keeping the courses in the best shape possible for the long-run of term.
As we enter the summer months, our focus shifts to strengthening the turf during its peak growing period While summer may not be our busiest golfing season, it’s a critical time for course preparation and recovery The work we do now, whether it’s aerification, cultural practices, or fine-tuning our mowing strategies, is essential for the long-term health and resilience of the turf. While conditions may be more variable during this time, these efforts ensure that the courses can withstand the challenges of summer and transition smoothly into the winter months with strong, healthy playing surfaces
We are excited to welcome Brian Beckner of Native Bird Boxes to our Club on Thursday, April 11! Brian plays a vital role in our course’s conservation efforts by conducting our bird counts and maintaining the bird boxes on property. He will share insights into the bird species we host, trends he’s observing in the area, and the importance of providing suitable habitats for native birds.
Don't miss this opportunity to learn more about our local bird population and how we can support them! We hope to see you there! 1:00 p.m - 2:00 p.m. | Complimentary Banquet Room Click

The Audubon Committee is excited to invite you to be a part of a rewarding and impactful effort to create a sanctuary for local butterflies while enhancing the beauty of our golf courses. We’re refreshing our butterfly gardens, trimming plants, replacing others, and making sure we provide the perfect environment for a variety of butterfly species. Our goal is to have all the gardens refreshed before the season ends.
The Butterfly Garden Project is flourishing, thanks to the dedication of our member volunteers! Over four one-hour work sessions, we've made significant progress in revitalizing the butterfly gardens on Talon 4 and Eagle 6.
Nature has already taken notice—Monarch butterflies quickly found the milkweed on Talon, and we expect to see Gulf Fritillaries, Zebra Longwings, and three species of Yellow Sulphurs soon. Keep an eye out for caterpillars as they make their appearance!
On March 25, we planted 130 milkweed plants on Eagle 6 to support Monarch and Queen caterpillars. While this may seem like an endless food supply, these hungry caterpillars will quickly consume the leaves—a natural and necessary part of their transformation into Monarch butterflies. Look around, and you might spot chrysalises hanging from washroom pillars! Once the butterflies emerge, they spend over an hour drying their wings before taking flight.
To provide ample nectar for adult butterflies, we’ve added New Gold Lantana, Pentas, and Salvia. For an extra touch of magic, we planted three Fire Spike trees on Eagle 6 in hopes of attracting hummingbirds.
Now, we turn our attention to our largest butterfly garden Eagle 11! We need your help to make it a true showpiece. Join us on April 8, 15, and 22 as we refresh this space. Our work sessions are on Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. and typically last no more than 1.5 hours. No experience is necessary just a willingness to get your hands a little dirty! Tasks include removing old plants, raking mulch, trimming, and planting new additions.

Flowering plants cause Allergic Rhinitis (hay fever) symptoms.
This is a common misconception but in reality flowering plants rely on the birds and the bees to spread their pollen and are often too large and sticky to spread by the wind. When people complain that scented flowers trouble them, it is usually due to a chemical irritation from the odor that makes them sneeze, rather than the pollen. Allergic rhinitis is caused by air borne pollen from wind pollinated grasses, weeds, and trees.
Eating local honey can reduce allergic rhinitis symptoms.
2
3 4 5
Some believe that the traces of pollen in raw local honey could help the immune system build tolerance to pollen, thereby reducing a person’s hay fever symptoms. However, most often, people with hay fever are allergic to airborne pollen from trees, grass and weeds As bees pollinate flowers, not trees, grass or weeds, honey doesn’t likely contain sufficient amounts of the pollen that most with hay fever are allergic to
You can build up a tolerance to the beneficial effects of antihistamines through continuous use and must switch from one brand to another because they seem to be less effective over time. There is no scientific evidence to support switching from one brand to another due to continuous use. All allergy antihistamines (prescription and OTC) work on the same histamine H1 receptor. The real reason patients feel these medicines becomes less effective over time is due to the fact that pollen counts may be higher later in the season (thereby overcoming the benefit of the medicine) and the priming effect which is where the immune response is more easily triggered to recognize pollen as the season progresses Usually by the time a patient switches to a different medicine the pollen levels are starting to decrease or the season is ending giving the perception that the switch to a different medicine actually helped more than the prior medicine.
Pets that shed less or have short hair will not cause allergies.
It is not the pet’s hair that triggers allergies, but the dander (shed skin), saliva and urine of the cat or dog that is allergenic. Therefore, all furred pets can potentially cause symptoms for patients with an animal allergy. This is why it’s important to spend time with a potential pet to see how you react before you invest financially or emotionally!
Specific allergies are genetic and/or passed on from generation to generation.
So just because your Dad was allergic to Bees or Penicillin doesn’t mean you are going to have the same allergies. What is true, family history of allergies do seem to increase the risk of some allergies (i.e asthma, eczema, food allergies etc) but not necessarily the same allergic triggers.
