Calls for Telstra meeting after prolonged outage An urgent meeting with Telstra has been called for by Federal Member for Leichhardt Warren Entsch after a 40-hour outage across Cape York and parts of the Torres Strait meant some residents were unable to call emergency number Triple ‘0’.
“It does highlight the fact that we’re reliant on a single line of communication, this has been a problem now for quite a few years,” Mr Entsch said.
