telling inquiry scrapped Queensland’s Truth-telling and Healing Inquiry has received formal advice from the new Queensland Government of their intention to cease the inquiry and repeal the Path to Treaty Act 2023. Inquiry chair Joshua Creamer said he received a letter confirming the promised move from new Minister for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Partnerships Fiona Simpson late on Monday night.

The inquiry was paused when the State election results were declared early last week and new Premier David Crisafulli made several public comments about the government not continuing those processes.

giants including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and industry experts including KJR, CSIRO and Torres Strait’s own Salty Monkeys. The event aimed to build technology-driven solutions to Indigenous community challenges in Australia by educating and training in handling data and

developing tools that solved real-world problems. It also fostered collaborative engagement with technologists, students and Traditional Owners. The young minds entered into a Deadly Coders program with workshops and hands-on coding sessions to empower and encourage the critical skills

“[Mr Crisafulli] also provided strong advice that Inquiry truth-telling sessions planned for December would not be allowed to continue,” Mr Creamer said. He said it was a “lost opportunity” for the state and for the last generation still alive to tell those stories.
