abopane Police have issued a stern warning to members of the public to be vigilant when withdrawing large sums of

money. This happened during the launch of a safety campaign initiative by Corporate Communication and Victim Support at Mabopane Square Mall as part of the National season visibility recently. With the festive season upon us, Police have warned shoppers to be more vigilant and take extra precautions during this period. Issuing safety tips Mabopane Police station Spokesperson Cap-

tain Rheineth Motlana said “Community members are urged to be more vigilant and to be escorted by a family member when making large cash withdrawal, carry as little cash as possible, never make bank visits public even to close people to you.” “Vary the days and times on which you deposit cash, do not openly display the money you are depositing while you are still standing in a queue, do not give your casual labourer wages in full view of the public, Victims are being followed from the banks after making a large cash withdrawals to their residences or any other place where it is easy to rob them,” said Motlana.
