New webinar shows how employers can help older workers thrive
OTTAWA, ON (January 21, 2025) — More truck drivers and other workers are remaining in the workforce beyond traditional retirement years –impacting retention and other workforce management approaches. Trucking HR Canada has gathered some of the best HR resources to help employers develop strategies to help older workers thrive and is presenting them in a one-hour webinar later this month. Register now.

“Multigenerational staff offer employers a unique opportunity to strengthen their teams and their bottom line,” says Angela Splinter, CEO, THRC. “Seasoned workers bring invaluable skills, experience, and reliability to the workplace along with institutional knowledge that newer employees just don’t have.”
The statistics are clear – between 2016 and 2021:
• The number of workers aged 65 and up increased by 3.4% per year in the general Canadian workforce
• In trucking, the number of older drivers rose 8.6%, and 6.2% among non-driving occupations
Employers need strategies to support productivity and job satisfaction for staff of all ages which will also support the long-term success of all staff and the business in general.
Join THRC on Wednesday January 29 at noon (ET) for Strategies to help older workers thrive – and more and get tips, resources, and strategies to:
• Retain and support aging employees.
• Enhance workplace accessibility while meeting compliance requirements.
• Leverage the contributions of experienced workers for organizational success.
