Announcement Looking for ways to get involved with your campus community? Student Activities is currently recruiting students to serve on the Olympia S&A Board for 2023-2024. This student government body is responsible for reviewing and awarding student fee funding for key campus programs such as student organizations, KAOS Radio, Cooper Point Journal, Recreation and Athletics, The Outdoor Program, Tacoma S&A, Native Pathways Student Government, and more. The Board reviews budget proposals, hears from budget managers and student group coordinators about their programs, and determines the funding award amounts. What is the commitment to serve on the S&A Board? You can expect 1-2 meetings a week, plus prep time to read and review budgets. This equals 4-5 hours every academic week. If selected, you must be able to attend meetings on Mondays 3-4pm and Wednesdays 3-5pm. Meeting attendance will be hybrid – you can participate In-person or remotely. What is the benefit of serving? This is a student leadership position with a lot of opportunities to build your career skills in organizational budgeting, grant making, consensus governance, and more.
