Theyear2022wasaspecialyearforTrinityAnglicanCollege,markingthe20thanniversaryoftheCollege. Thegrowthandmaturationofourschooloveritstwo-decadelonghistorywasreflectedinrecord enrolmentsin2022,reinforcingTrinity'sstandingasaleadingK-12educationproviderinregionalNSW.

Trinity’sroleandachievementinregionaleducationisnotachanceoutcome.GuidedbyAnglicanfaith,itis duetothededicatedexpertiseandcareofoursuperbleadershipteam,teachingandprofessionalstaff,and thewonderfulstudentsandtheirfamilies,whichtogethercompriseourTrinitycommunity.Theymakeour schoolatrulyvibrantcentreoflearning,activity,friendshipandservice.WeareproudTrinityAnglican CollegeisaschooloftheAnglicanSchoolsCommission,whichiscommittedtotheprovisionofaccessible Anglicaneducationandprovidesexcellentexpertise,supportandoverarchinggovernanceofourCollege.

ToleadourTrinitycommunityfrom2022,weweredelightedtoannouncetheappointmentofournew Principal,DrAdrianJohnson.HisselectionbytheAnglicanSchoolsCommissionandtheCollegeCouncil reflectstheCollege’sabilitytoattractexceptionaltalenttoourleadershipteam.

DrJohnsonbringsextensiveexperienceinleadingeducationalenvironments,bothnationallyand internationally,coupledwithawarmthandlevelofcarethatwillenableourcommunitytothrive.Wewere delightedtocelebrateDrJohnson’sappointmentwasatabeautifulCommissioningServiceon 25November2022.

TheCollegeisdeeplygratefulforthesuperbinterimleadershipprovidedbyMrTonyScheumackduringthe searchphase.HisexpertisewillcontinuetoenrichourCollegethroughhisroleasDirectorofthenew EasternStatesOfficeoftheAnglicanSchoolsCommission.

WealsotooktimetoreimagineTrinity’splannedmajorcapitalworksprograminlightoftheCovid experience.Wewerethrilledtoannounce'TrinityTowardTomorrow'inlate2022,amajorinvestmentin regionaleducation.Itrespondstoourevolvingenrolmentprofile,withstrongdemandacrossthejuniorand seniorschoolsrequiringnewlearningspacesforbothyoungerandolderstudents.Itco-locatesthenew spacesonthemainTrinitysite,ensuringacontinuedemphasisonasinglecommunityforourK-12 students.TheTrinityTowardsTomorrowspaceshavealsobeenthoughtfullydesignedtoofferflexibilityand freedomforadiverserangeofstudents,enablingstudentagencyinlearningandengagement.Asthe landscapeofeducationcontinuallychanges,theneedforadaptable,dynamiclearningspacesismore criticalthanever.

Asourcommunitycontinuestostrengthen,andourspacescontinuetoexpand,sodotheachievementsof ourstudents.Weareincrediblyproudoftheacademic,extracurricularandserviceambitions-effortsand achievementsofourstudentsacrossamagnificentrangeofpursuits.Wecontinuetocelebratethe strengthsofourHSCandNAPLANresultswhilealsoencouragingourstudentstopursueawiderangeof pathwaysthatenabletheirindividualtalentsandintereststothrive.

TheCollegewasagainfortunatetobeguidedbytheCollegeCouncil,ateamofproficientprofessionalswho generouslyvolunteertheirtimetoensurethestronggovernanceofourcollege.Wenoteoursincere appreciationofthecontributionsoflong-standingCouncilmemberandpreviousDeputyChair,MrsAlice Glachan,andDrDavidNewsom,whocompletedtheirtermsonCouncilin2022.

TrinityAnglicanCollegeislocatedinThurgoona(asuburbofAlbury),ontheNSWandVictoriaborder. TheCollegereflectsthesurroundingthriving,culturallydiverseandactivecommunity.

Trinityisa co-educationalAnglicanindependentschoolforstudentsfromKindergartentoYear12–one of15AnglicanSchoolsCommission(ASC)schoolsacrossthecountry,andisservicedbyanextensive busnetwork,withsomestudentstravellingsignificantdistancestobewithuseachday.

Trinityprovideshopeandlovethroughsharingandcelebratingourfaith.AsanASCschool,thespiritual andmoraldimensionsofeducationfindasignificantplacewithinthecurriculum.Ourstudentsliveout ourChristianvaluesthroughbuildingrespectfulrelationshipswithoneanotherandservingtheir community.

ManyopportunitiesareavailabletochallengeandinspirethosewhoattendTrinity.Westrivetodevelop youngpeoplewithawell-roundededucation,encompassinganexcellentcurriculumandexceptionalcocurricularopportunities.WealsoprideourselvesonourPastoralCarePrograms.Ouraimhereisto preparestudentsforasuccessfullifebeyondtheirschoolyears.

At the August 2022 census, the total enrolment was 1198 students.

ThemajorityofstudentslivewithinageographicallyaccessiblesuburbtotheCollege–largelycoming fromThurgoona/Wirlinga(45%),Albury(21%),Lavington(12%),Wodonga(12%),andsurroundingregions (9%).

Male/femaleratiosarerelativelyequal-withthetotalenrolmentmadeupof51.2%femaleand48.8% male.Wehaveapopulationofapproximately1.6%whoidentifyasAboriginal,TorresStraitIslanderor both.

Trinityhas8.74%ofstudentswhohavealanguagebackgroundotherthanEnglish(LOTE).

TheRoSArecordsanycompletedcoursesandgrades,andparticipationinanyuncompletedPreliminary Stage6coursesorHSCcourseswhereapplicable.Eligibilitydependsuponstudentssatisfactorily completingallcurriculumrequirementsofStage5whichculminatesinYear10.

During2022,74Year10students(100%)wereeligibletoreceivetheRoSA.Inadditiontothemandatory subjects,allYear10studentscompletedatleastthreeor,asmanyas,fiveelectivesubjectsfromTAS, VisualArts,HSIE,PerformingArts,LanguagesandPDHPEDepartments.

FromtheYear11cohort,92students(100%),wereeligibletoreceivetheRoSA.Thesestudentswere engagedin27coursesacrossallkeylearningareas.Allstudentsprogressedtothe2023HSCCourse.

Atthebeginningof2022,TrinityAnglicanCollegeprioritisedprofessionallearningopportunitiesforits teachingstaff,primarilydeliveredonline.Despitethechallengesposedbytheongoingpandemic,the Collegeensuredteachershadaccesstoopportunitiesforlearningwheneverpossible.

Aspartoftheroutinestart-of-yearprocesses,newteachingstaffatTrinityunderwentacomprehensive inductionprogram.ThisinductionfocusedonfamiliarisingthemwiththeCollege'sethos,policiesand procedures.Additionally,theyreceivedtrainingoncomputersystemsandonlinelearningplatformsto facilitatetheireffectiveintegrationintotheCollege'steachingenvironment.

Toensureasafeandsupportivelearningenvironmentallstaff,includingbothteachingandsupportstaff, completedmandatorytraininginCPR/FirstAid,AnaphylaxisManagement,andChildProtection.They alsoreceivedtraininginareassuchasMandatoryReportingandReportableConduct,equippingthem withthenecessaryknowledgeandskillstomeettheirprofessionalobligations.

Recognisingtheimportanceofdigitalliteracyinthemoderneducationallandscape,theCollegeprovided staffwithopportunitiestoenhancetheirdigitalskills.Staffweregivenaccesstosessionsconducted internallybyTrinitystaff,specificallyfocusingonimprovingtheirproficiencyinplatformssuchasOne Drive,SharePoint,Teams,andtheSEQTAlearningmanagementsystem.Thisinvestmentindigitalliteracy aimedtoempowerteacherstoeffectivelyutilisetechnologyintheirteachingpracticesandfacilitatea seamlessintegrationofdigitaltoolsintothecurriculum.

Byofferingacomprehensiverangeofprofessionallearningopportunities,bothonlineandin-person, Trinitydemonstrateditscommitmenttoequippingitsteachingstaffwiththenecessaryskillsand knowledgetodeliverhigh-qualityeducationinarapidlyevolvingeducationallandscape.

InMay,TrinityhostedChristianPurposesDayaspartoftheASCeasternstatesgroupofschools.This wasadayforteachingstafftoreflectontheirpracticeandtonetworkwithcolleagues.Thekeynote speakerwasJulesAllenwhospoketoteachersandsupportstaffaboutherhistoryofworkingwith challengingyoungadultsandhowherlifeexperiencesenabledhertobetterconnectwiththem.

TheCollege remaineddedicatedtostaffdevelopmentintheonlinedeliveryofNAPLAN,actively participatinginonlinetrainingmodules.Thisinitiativeensuredteacherswereequippedwiththe necessaryknowledgeandskillstoeffectivelyadministerNAPLANthroughonlineplatforms.

InadditiontoNAPLANtraining,severalteachersatTrinityengagedinprofessionaldevelopmentactivities toenhancetheirproficiencyinutilisingspecificsystems.ThisincludedupdatingtheirskillsinEdval TimetablingandDailyOrganisationsystemswhichareessentialtoolsforefficientschedulingand organisationwithintheCollege.Furthermore,teachersalsosoughttostayuptodatewiththelatest updatesandenhancementsintheSEQTALearningManagementSystem,aplatformutilisedfor curriculummanagementandcommunication.

IntheSeniorSchool,staffmemberswhoparticipatedintheRiteJourneyProgramunderwentspecific professionallearningactivitiesalignedwiththeprogram'sobjectives.Thistrainingequippedthemwith thenecessaryknowledgeandskillstoeffectivelyengagewithstudentswithinasupportiveenvironment, fosteringpersonalgrowthanddevelopment.

WithindifferentdepartmentsoftheSeniorSchool,teachersactivelyengagedinopportunitiestoenhance theirteachingskills,particularlyinrelationtoStage6subjects.Theyparticipatedinonlinemodulesand webinarsspecificallydesignedtosupportstaffmembersteachingYear11and12courses.These professionallearningactivitiesaimedtoenhancepedagogicalapproaches,subjectknowledge,and familiaritywiththecurriculumrequirementsattheseniorlevel.

Additionally,TrinityhadthreestaffmembersundertakeHigherSchoolCertificate(HSC)marking.This involvementinthemarkingprocessoftheHSCexaminationsprovidedvaluableinsightsintoassessment practicesandcontributedtotheirprofessionalgrowthandunderstandingoftheexaminationsystem.

Intermsofleadershipdevelopment,middleandseniorleadersengagedinvariousexperiencessuchas TheImpactCycle(presentedbyGlobalCoachingInternational),RestorativePracticesinSchools,avariety ofLawsensemodulesaimedatworkingwithparentsandstudentswithdisabilities,HumanResources andInvestigationsMasterclass,WorkplaceHealthandSafetytraining,andonlinemodulesinpreparation forRegistrationandAccreditation.

Inlinewithitscommitmenttoinclusiveeducation,Trinityprioritisedprofessionaldevelopmentincatering forstudentslivingwithdisabilities.Thisyear,severalstaffmemberscompletedmodulesspecifically focusedonworkingwithstudentswithAutismSpectrumDisorder.Moreover,theentireteachingstaff participatedinaworkshopledbySueCairns,fromAISNSW,aimedatenhancingtheirunderstandingand practicesinthisarea.

Furthermore,theCollegeencouragedindividualteacherstopursueprofessionallearningopportunities alignedwiththeirspecificinterestsandareasofgrowth.Someoftheidentifiedareasofprofessional interestteacherselectedtoundertakeincluded:

Teacher accreditation

At Trinity, all teachers employed in 2022 met the standards set by NESA. This criterion applied to all teaching staff, including ongoing employees, those on short-term contracts, and Casual Replacement Teachers.

Meeting the NESA standards ensures teaching staff at the College possess the necessary qualifications, knowledge and skills to provide high-quality education to students. By adhering to these standards, the College upholds its commitment to maintaining a professional teaching workforce that meets the requirements set by the education regulatory body.

Onaverage,studentattendancefor2022was87%(Semester1,2021)–thisdataispublishedonthe‘My School’website www.myschool.edu.au.Wemonitorandmanagestudentattendancethroughourstudent administrationsystem.RollsaremarkedatthebeginningofeachdayintheJuniorSchoolandatthe beginningofeachlessonintheSeniorSchool.ParentsarecontactedregardingabsencesviatheSEQTA SMSSystem.

AnyongoingunexplainedabsencesarealsofollowedupbytheCollegeLeadershipTeam.AnyseriousnonattendanceissuesaremanagedbythePrincipalinconsultationwithHeadsofSchool.

Enrolmentcriteria

Childrenshouldturn5yearsofageby31MarchintheyeartheystartschoolinKindergarten(NSW). StudentsmayentertheCollegeatanyyearlevelsubjecttoavailabilityofplaces.Toavoid disappointment,particularlyinthekeyintakeyearsofKindergartenandYear7,theCollegeencourages earlyapplications.Applicationsareprocessedinorderofapplicationdate.

Wewelcomeenrolmentsfromfamiliesofallreligiousfaithsandnone.Allinterestedfamiliesareinvited tovisitourwebsite,viewourprospectus,andbookinforatour.

Step1:CompleteaRegistrationofInterestinEnrolmentform

Beforeorafteratour,familiesarewelcometocompleteaRegistrationofInterestinEnrolmentformand submitwiththeappropriateadministrationfee.Aletteracknowledgingreceiptofinterestwillthenbe issued.Wearehappytoacceptapplicationsatanytime;however,familiesareencouragedtosubmitan InterestinEnrolmentwellinadvanceoftheadmissionyear.Lodgmentofthisapplicationdoesnot guaranteeaplace.

Step2:Enrolmentinterview

Oncewehavereceivedallcompleteddocumentation,familieswillbeinvitedforanEnrolmentInterview. InterviewsareconductedbytheHeadoftheJuniorSchool/DeanofStudiesJuniorSchool,orHeadof SeniorSchool/DeanofStudiesSeniorSchool.FollowingtheEnrolmentInterview,andattheadviceofthe HeadsofSchool,aformalletterofoffermaybeprovided.

Step3:Confirmationofplace

OncetheLetterofOfferhasbeenreceived,familiescanaccepttheofferwithanon-refundableEnrolment GuaranteeFeewithinsevenbusinessdays.WethenprovidewrittenConfirmationofPlaceoncewe receivethecompletedApplicationforEnrolmentform,plusanyotherrelevantdocumentation.

Step4:Welcomeandorientation

ItdoesnotmatterifstartingfreshinTerm1,orpartwaythroughTerm3,ourteachersandstaffwill ensureasmoothtransitiontoourCollege. StudentsareinvitedtoattendaseriesofTransitionDaysprior tostartingwithus.

Enrolment of international Students

The enrolment of International Students is managed by ASC International. ASC International is committed to providing a first-class education that gives students the opportunity to share their culture, values and experiences.

Withdrawals

A period of one term’s notice is required for any family wishing to withdraw their child. Holiday periods do not constitute adequate notice. Notice of withdrawal is required in writing to the Principal.

College determined improvement targets and achievements

Duringthefirstsemesterof2022,TrinityAnglicanCollegewasledbyanexperiencedInterimPrincipal, TonySheumack.ThisperiodcoincidedwiththeongoingchallengesposedbytheCOVID-19pandemic, requiringstaffmemberswhowereexposedto,oraffectedby,thevirustoisolateforextendedperiods. TheCollegeplacedahighpriorityonmaintainingsmoothoperationsduringthistimeofuncertainty.

InMay,AdrianJohnsonwasappointedasthefourthPrincipaloftheCollegeandassumedhisroleinJuly. Aspartofhisleadership,arestructureoftheExecutiveTeamtookplace.Thisrestructureresultedinthe appointmentofanewHeadofSeniorSchool,DeansofStudiesforboththeJuniorandSeniorSchools, andaDeanofActivities.Thus,thenewCollegeLeadershipTeam(CLT)wasformed.

TheHeadsofSchoolsandDeansofStudieshavealreadybegunplanningforimprovedtransitions betweentheJuniorandSeniorSchools,focusingonbothpastoralcareandlearningprograms. Additionally,therewillbeagreateremphasisontheimportanceofHouseacrossbothsub-schools,with increasedinter-ageactivitiesandinter-housecompetitions.

UndertheguidanceoftheDeanofActivities,areviewofthecurrentcampswasinitiated,andthe developmentofanOutdoorEducationProgramisunderway.Discussionswithcommunitygroups commencedinanefforttoexplorethepotentialforstudent-ledsocialoutreachprograms.Overthe comingyears,theCollegeexpectstoestablishacomprehensiveServiceLearningProgram.

TheStrategicPlan,whichwasdraftedin2021,wasbasedonsurveydatacollectedtwoyearsprior. Consequently,anewstrategicplanningprocesswilltakeplacenextyear,involvingconsultationwiththe CollegeCouncil,CLT,staff,studentsandparents.TheresultsofMMGSurveys,whichincludes questionnairescompletedbystaff,studentsandparentscoveringallaspectsoftheCollege'soperations, willplayacentralroleinshapingthenewStrategicPlan.

AlignedwiththeASC'VisionforLearning,'theCollegeaimstorefocusitsenergiesonteachingand learning. ThisundertakingwillnecessitatethedevelopmentofacomprehensivestaffProfessional LearningProgramtomaximisestudentoutcomes.Opportunitiesforstudentextensionandenrichment willbekeyaspectsofthisinitiative.

Furthermore,plansareunderwaytoimplementConsent2Go,asystemthatmanagesparentalpermissions andriskassessmentsforalltrips.TheCollegealsointendstorenewitswebsitein2023tobetterserve prospectivefamiliesandmembersofstaff.

AsanAnglicanschool,wearecommittedtofosteringconnectionsandengagement.TheCollege's PastoralCareProgramplayedavitalroleinfacilitatingmeaningfulrelationshipsbetweenstudentsand teachers,aswellasstrengtheningconnectionsamongpeers.Theserelationshipsnotonlycultivateda senseofbelongingbutalsoempoweredstudentstosuccessfullynavigatelife'schallenges.

TheJuniorSchoolfocusedonnurturingthewell-beingofstudentsthroughthedevelopmentofa WellbeingToolbox,whichencompassesgratitude,empathyandmindfulness.Additionally,the introductionofwell-beinggames,suchasSeasonsforGrowthandPOWERGames,aimedtoassist studentsinmanaginggrief,enhancingsocialskillsandimprovinginteractionswithothers.

TheSeniorSchoolexpandeditsPastoralCareProgramtoincludevariousthemes,includingPositive MentalHealth,StudySkillsandMindfulness.ByaligningtheJuniorandSeniorSchoolpastoralcare programs,theCollegenurturedastrongersenseofcommunity.

Wevalueculturaldiversity,welcomingstudentsfromvariousethnicgroups,religiousbeliefsand backgrounds.IndigenousAustralianandTorresStraitIslanderperspectivesareintegratedintothe curriculumtopromoteunderstanding,whiletheCollegeactivelycelebratesdiversitythrougheventslike HarmonyDay.OurinvolvementincommemoratingANZACandRemembranceDay,aswellas participatinginthewidercommunityevents,furtherreinforceditscommitmenttoculturalinclusivity.

TheCollegeoffersawiderangeofco-curricularopportunitiesacrossfivedomains:Technology, EnvironmentandSustainability,CreativityandEnrichment,PerformingArts,andHealthandWellbeing. Studentsareencouragedtoengageintheseofferings,representingtheCollegeinvariousendeavours, particularlyinsportingcompetitions.Notablehighlightsincludestudentparticipationinmusic,drama performances,andtheRuralFireServiceCadetsProgram.Theproductionsof'PeterPanJnr'and 'Antigone',servedasaplatformforstudentsandstafftoshowcasetheirtalents.IntheJuniorSchool,the CreativePursuitsProgramexpandedtoincludeKindergartentoYear2students,providingthemwith opportunitiestoexploretheirindividualinterests.

In2022,studentsfromYear3toYear12participatedincamps,offeringstructuredexperiencesto promoteteambuildingandpersonalgrowth.Furthermore,excursionsandcamp-styleactivitieswere arrangedforKindertoYear6groups,enablingstudentstoengageresponsiblywiththelocalcommunity. Theseexperiencesalsoplayedasignificantroleinsupportingstudentandstaffwell-beingandmental health.

SportholdsaprominentplaceintheCollege'slife,withstudentsparticipatingininter-school competitionssuchasBISSA,RAS,andCIS,alongsidelocalcommunitysportingevents.TheCollege demonstratesstrongsupportforathletics,swimming,cross-countryandbasketball,withitsteams representingtheCollegeatthenationallevel.

Weencouragedstudentstoactivelyserveotherswithintheirschool,local,national,andglobal communities.Throughregularassembliesandchapelservices,studentsareremindedtoprioritisethe needsofothers,offerencouragement,andcontributepositivelytotheircommunities.

WeeklyassembliesalwaysincludeabiblereadingandtheCollegeprayer.ReligiousandValuesEducation isincorporatedintothecurriculum,fosteringstudents'spiritualgrowthandunderstandingfromKinderto Year10.

TheCollegesupportsstudentsfromYear9and10toparticipateintheDukeofEdinburgh’sAward.To earnanaward,eachstudentmustlearnaskill,improvetheirphysicalwellbeing,volunteerintheir communityandexperienceateamadventureinanewenvironment.Throughthischallengingprogram, studentslearntotakeresponsibilityfortheirgoalsandchoices,becomeconnectedto,andactively engagedwith,theirlocalcommunityandmakeapositivecontributiontosociety.

Studentsactivelyparticipatein communityserviceandfundraisinginitiatives.In2022,theCollege reneweditssupportfortheAlbury/Wodonga'RelayforLife'eventandseveralothercharitablecauses, includingourpartnerschoolinSamoa.TheCollegealsostrengtheneditsconnectionswithglobal organisationslikeRAWImpact.

Fundraisingactivitiesareanintegralpartofourcommitmenttoactivesocialresponsibility.In2022, studentswerenotonlyencouragedtoraisefundsbutalsotoraiseawarenessaboutthechallengesfaced bydisadvantagedindividualsbothlocallyandglobally.Byfosteringasenseofcommunityresponsibility andunderstanding,theCollegeaimedtoinspireactionandpromotepositivechange.

Throughthesecommunityserviceandfundraisingefforts,weaimtoinstillinitsstudentsadeepsenseof compassion,empathy,andengagementwiththeworldaroundthem.

ThroughoutSemester1of2022,asCOVID-19restrictionsgraduallylifted,wewelcomedparentsback ontocampusforParentTeacherInterviewsandInformationSessions.Theseoccasionsprovidedan opportunityfordirectcommunicationbetweenstaffandfamiliesandwerewellsupportedbythe community.TheCollegealsoemphasisedtheClassTeacherandHouseMentorastheprimarypointsof contactforfamilies,ensuringastrongconnectionbetweenhomeandschool.

Tomaintainongoingcontactwithfamilies,theCollegecontinuedtocommunicatethroughJuniorSchool ClassTeachersandHeadsofHouseintheSeniorSchool.Additionally,socialmediaplatformsanda fortnightlyNewsletterwereutilisedtokeepfamiliesinformedaboutouroperationsandweregularly invitedfeedback.Thereturntoin-personeventsandactivities,suchasBookWeekandChristmasCarols, wasmetwithapalpablesenseofrelieffromparents,whoexpressedtheirappreciationforareturnto normalcy.

Informalfeedbackreceivedfromstudents,parents,andstaffthroughout2022wasparticularlypositive. Therewasalowturnoverofstudentsandstaff,indicatingastrongsenseofsatisfactionwithintheTrinity community.In2023,weplantoengageMMGtoconductformalsurveysthatwillinvitewrittenfeedback fromthesethreestakeholdergroups,providingamorecomprehensiveassessmentoftheirexperiences andperspectives.
