Student Discipline: Behaviour Management Guidelines
The College endeavours to create an environment where students are actively encouraged to be “the best they can be”. Pastoral care and positive relationships lie at the heart of developing good discipline procedures and protocols. Our expectation is that all our students will learn to exercise self-discipline and comply with the College’s high standards of personal and community behaviour. Successful management of student learning and behaviour is underpinned by the fostering of positive relationships between all stakeholders.
The use of positively framed and restorative conversations aim to resolve conflict by prioritising repairing harm done to people and their relationships over assigning blame and dispensing punishment It is about helping students become aware of the impact of their behaviour on others through personal accountability and being open to learning from situations.
