Jo Cherrett, Executive T H E Director Business Management & Philippa E EC. Williamson, Executive Director Business F A C T O R Support share with you the things that are going on behind the scenes Well here we are almost into August already – how quickly is this year flying by!

Bernie is once again flying the flag for the Trust volunteering up in Glasgow at the Commonwealth Games, which at the time of writing are already proving to be another fantastic example of how well we Brits deliver on these iconic Sporting events and how the great British public get behind them. It is great to see such less high profile sports as Swimming, Squash, Badminton, Table tennis, Gymnastics, Judo, Netball, Shooting and Bowling getting so much television coverage, and hopefully we will see the benefit from the legacy of these games, both in our Leisure Centres and out in our community, as more people, young and old, are inspired to take up some of these sports.

As you will see from the “movers” section at the back of this newsletter, there are a number of changes taking place within

Work Experience weeks, and all sites will be seeing some new faces. It is really important for the Trust that we continually review the make-up of our Leadership and Management teams across all sites, to ensure both that we have the right balance of knowledge, experience, gender and skills within our teams, and also to allow individuals to continue their own personal development journey and gain a broad range of experience in all aspects of our business. We recognise that at times change is difficult but we are confident that you will all do your best to make new team members welcome and ensure that their period of transition is as smooth as possible.

Once the Summer holiday period is over all eyes will once again be focussing on Wellbeing Week, which this year will run from Monday 22nd September to Sunday 28th September, culminating with our Family Fun Day and already legendary Tug Of War at Flixton House. As announced at the Staff Conference this year the team challenges will be devised by each of the Site teams, so hopefully you will all already be on with your planning for what will undoubtedly be another hotly contested set of competitions!!

Stevie said she did want to go to college and University, but since working at Sale for her work experience she now wants to apply for one of our apprenticeships schemes.

Connor is 15 years and comes from Sale Grammar School; Connor’s hobbies are Swimming and sports in general At the end of this year Connor is interested in staying on at school and completing 6th Form College and going onto University to study science and languages. When Connor is 16 he would like to do his NPLQ and work for the Trust as a casual Lifeguard while he is studying.

Family Fun Day On Saturday the 5th of July Partington Sports Village held a family fun day in aid of our chosen charity CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young). We had all kinds of activities from the Bouncy castle and pool inside to football on the 3G, a car boot sale and sports activities on the field. We also held a raffle for a fantastic homemade minion cake that one of our lovely customers made for us.

Manchester United Foundation also donated some gifts which were auctioned off. We managed to raise an amazing £250 on the day of the family fun day and we are still collecting money from other things going on. Partington Sports Village would like to thank everybody that came and took part and for digging deep into your pockets to make donations.
