(n) an underlying basis or principle.
When Jeremy bought his first Simmental female 20 years ago, I am not quite sure he thought he would be where he is today. At the time, he had a handful of registered Herefords, and the name “Windy Creek Cattle Company” had recently been dreamt up in the back of the judging team van. But something to do with a friendship resulted in 5 bred Simmental females a year later from the Wernings. Three years later, he purchased his first Simmental donor cow, WAGR Crickett 712T, from the Effling/Wager outfit. A cow or two more from Werning, Eichacker, Reimer, Kappes, and Thomas, and I guess you have a cowherd. As it turns out, he didn’t build just any cowherd, but one of consistency: stout, good looking, sound, and performance driven.
When trying to decide what our word for this sale would be, “foundation” kept coming to the top. Y302, one of the foundation donor cows of the program and most notably WINC All Right 213K’s grandmother, is no doubt a featured female in this offering. WINC Hollie, WINC All Right 213K’s mother, offers the opportunity to build your foundation with proven maternal excellence. A direct daughter of C50P, the foundation of our SimAngus program, is up for your appraisal as well. The bred heifer selection is deep and right off the top of the replacement pen with a sale highlight of selling choice from one of the most consistent flushes we have had. And we are holding nothing back with the open heifer calves as every 2025 born ET heifer calf is up for grabs!
As many of you know, the cattle are just one piece of the foundation. We live in the heart of some of the best Simmental genetics in the country, but most importantly, we live in a community that was ready to mentor a young cattleman from Epiphany, SD. They answered his questions as he learned more about the Simmental breed. They welcomed him onto their Association board and listened to his ideas. They even let him get on the microphone from time to time. The people, along with the cattle, are our foundation.
Somewhere in the mix of this, Jeremy met a Shorthorn girl (story for a different day), had two kids, and built a ranch in Spencer, SD from the ground up. We have a sign in our house that reads, “Dreams don’t work unless you do.” Not sure Jeremy sleeps hard enough to have dreams, but the amount of work that has gone into building this operation and the WINC brand in one generation is quite remarkable. We look forward to welcoming you to the ranch, this time in honor of the females, and hopefully adding an impactful line to your foundational story.

Over 35 years in livestock marketing!

The dynamics of the beef industry are constantly evolving. Every aspect of the business is under change or reconstruction to make the end product better, from genetics to processing and preparation. It is the mission to remain at the top of the food chain as the most desired and nutrient-dense form of consumable protein for the world’s growing population. The U.S. Beef Industry is the world leader in terms of research, safety, palatability, and overall quality. As the current market trend continues, we firmly believe that our business will remain at the top of the spectrum for the years ahead.
The cow/calf operator remains in the driver’s seat as the aggressive marketplace continues to prosper, with daily feeder cattle reaching record prices across all weight classes. In October, big steers and heifers nationwide saw per-head values consistently exceeding $3000, while lighter counterpartsmaintained values well into the mid to upper $2,000’s. Ranches that have been disciplined in retaining or acquiring females with excellent production records- such as pounds of calf weaned with the ability to breed back within the calving interval- are being rewarded for their strict culling practices and management. These forward-thinking operations are willing to invest more in their herd sires to promote genetic improvement and are exploring ways to expand, whether through land acquisitions or leases. When expansion occurs, the need for more production females arises, which makes shopping at operations like Windy Creek Cattle essential.
Jeremy Lehrman is a strong believer in performance. He knows, just like any young seed stock producer, that pounds make the difference regardless of the marketing phase. Bulls produced at Windy Creek Cattle Company are known for their ability to transmit growth and profits to their owners. The progressive customer base for the male progeny of the WINC prefix is also highly loyal, with multiple operations remaining committed to what the program has to offer. Deciding to offer an elite sort of females was not an easy one, as Jeremy would just as soon hoard them all, but he felt it was his obligation to the betterment of the general U.S. cowherd. The opportunity to select from the youth and the proven will be yours to take advantage of on November 23. One will have the privilege to invest in those that the progressive seed stock firm would otherwise retain to implement into the next generation of the program. We are sure that one will not want to miss the opportunity to witness this offering, as it could very well accelerate any breeding program to a whole other level of production and profitability.
Female offerings such as this don’t happen often. The cow base of any beef entity is very sacred to those who own and breed them, and so one must be engaged when these situations present themselves. Jeremy Lehrman and his family represent integrity, initiative, ambition, vision, and selfless customer service. This set of females represents years of selection pressure placed on the quality of kind and hoof, udder integrity, pounds weaned, and fertility. Many in the offering would be from the same donor dams and cow families whose sons highlight the annual bull sale, the first Sunday of March. You too will have the opportunity to invest in every replacement female from the 2025 born ET crop, an opportunity that proves, Jeremy is truly opening the doors wide open to the heart of the cowherd. In times of success, it is our duty as stockmen to desire improvement and invest in the future, so we are prepared for the next obstacle or expectation from the volatile marketplace or the consuming public.
Make plans to attend the female offering of Windy Creek Cattle Company on November 23, 2025, at the ranch near Spencer, South Dakota. The facility and hospitality will be warm, and the cattle will not disappoint. If anyone on the Innovation AgMarketing team can assist you with additional information or sight-unseen purchases, do not hesitate to reach out. Also, feel free to contact Jeremy to schedule a ranch visit before sale day if you wish to do so. Thank you for your interest!
Enjoy the cattle!

Expected Progeny Differences (EPDs): EPDs are the most accurate and effective tool available for comparing genetic levels. In using EPDs, the difference between two sires’ EPDs represents the unit difference expected in the performance of their progeny. For example, if sires A and B have EPDs of +10 and –5, a 15-unit difference would be expected in their progeny (moving from -5 to +10 yields 15 units). Key to using EPDs is knowing what units they are expressed in. For example, if the above case referred to weaning weight EPDs, A would be expected to sire 15-pounds more weaning weight than B. If calving ease were the trait, A would be expected to sire 15-percent more unassisted births in first-calf heifers; in other words, if B sired 30 assists in a group of 100 heifers, we’d expect A to require 15 assists. A percentile-ranking chart is required to determine where a bull’s EPDs rank him relative to other bulls in the breed. For percentile rankings or more detailed information about EPDs and $ indexes visit www.simmental.org. Listed below are the units ASA EPDs are expressed in:
• Calving Ease (CE): Percent of unassisted births when used on heifers.
• Birth Weight (BW): Pounds of birth weight. Calving Ease (CE): Percent of unassisted births when used on heifers.
• Weaning Weight (WW): Pounds of weaning weight.
• Yearling Weight (YW): Pounds of yearling weight.
• Maternal Calving Ease (MCE): Percent of unassisted births in first-calving daughters.
• Milk (MLK): Pounds of weaning weight due to milk.
• Maternal Weaning Weight (MWW): Pounds of weaning weight due to milk and growth.
• Stayability (STAY): Percent of daughters remaining in the cowherd at 6 years of age.
• Carcass Weight (CW): Pounds of carcass weight.
• Yield Grade (YG): Yield grade score.
• Marbling (MRB): Marbling score.
• Back Fat (BF): Inches of backfat.
• Ribeye Area (REA): Square inches of ribeye.
• All-Purpose Index (API): Dollars per cow exposed under an all-purpose-sire scenario. (See below for more details.)
• Terminal Index (TI): Dollars per cow exposed under a terminal-sire scenario. (See below for more details.)
$ Indexes: Though EPDs allow for the comparison of genetic levels for many economically important traits, they only provide a piece of the economic puzzle. That’s where $ indexes come in. Through well- conceived, rigorous mathematical computation, $ indexes blend EPDs and economics to estimate an animal’s overall impact on your bottom line. The same technology that led to the dramatic progress in swine, poultry and dairy genetics over the last several decades was used to develop the following $ indexes: All-Purpose Index (API): Evaluates sires for use on the entire cow herd (bred to both Angus first-calf heifers and mature cows) with the portion of their daughters required to maintain herd size retained and the remaining heifers and steers put on feed and sold grade and yield.
Terminal Index (TI): Evaluates sire for use on mature Angus cows with all offspring put on feed and sold grade and yield. Using API and TI: First, determine which index to use; if you’re keeping replacements use API, if not, TI. Then, just as with EPDs, zero in on the unit difference between bulls. (As described above, index units are in dollars per cow exposed.) The difference can be used to determine how much a bull is worth compared to another. Or, put another way, how much you can pay for one bull compared to another. For example, when buying an all-purpose-type sire, you can quickly figure a bull scoring +100 for API is worth an extra $6,000 over a +50 bull if both are exposed to 30 cows over 4 years ($50 diff. x 30 hd. x 4 yr. = $6,000). A percentile-ranking chart is required to determine where a bull’s index value ranks him relative to other bulls in the breed. For percentile rankings or more detailed information about EPDs and $ indexes visit www.simmental.org.

The offering of WINC Hollie 0125H in her entirety is a decision that has not come easily, she is a female that has had a monumental effect on the position that Windy Creek Cattle Company sits, as her first born son, the $147,500 WINC All Right 213K certainly turned the spotlight in the direction of Spencer, South Dakota. The first sons of WINC All Right 213K graced the offering in 2025, we couldn’t be more grateful for the interest that Simmental breeders across the nation paid to him before selling in the 2023 “Profit Through Performance”, but now that his influence is proving to be as potent as we expected, we couldn’t be more excited. His influence has already found legit success through a $185,000 daughter that sold in the 2024 Sandeen’s Buildin’ a Brand Sale. This is a genetic line that comes with generations of potency though, as she is a direct daughter of the herd matriarch, Kappes Sadie T635 Y302. The mating of W/C Fort Knox 609F and Y302 has fired with serious consistency, and full siblings to WINC Hollie having been sale highlights over the past couple of years. We are excited to share the maternal powers of this history making dam through the opportunity to purchase her in the prime of her life, with a very long breeding and production career ahead, she certainly offers up an opportunity to seriously elevate the trajectory of a cowherd.

WINC SURELOCK 71L Son of Lot 5
Kappes Sadie T635 Y302 is certainly a female that we owe a lot to, she has stood at the heart of the cowherd for a long time, and has been able to witness plenty of infrastructure be built around her at Windy Creek, because of the dominant run she has made as a producer. Sons of many differing matings have highlighted the pages of the “Profit through Performance”, and it’s now her daughters that are in production that carry on the family name with their incredible generating potential. She is one of those females that has formed a base that clicks to anything we throw her way. She is the mother of the WINC Hollie donor, who sells as Lot 1, along with the WINC Fortress 170J sire that stands at the front of the herd bull pen, and has daughters in this sale, the $65,000 WINC Next Generation 0111H and the WINC 064H donor that works for Griswold Cattle Company. She offers the most formidable source of reliable quality, futuristic look and incredible longevity we have ever been apart of. No claims need to be made about her longevity either, as this power cow is still one that will impress in the sale pens, and has proven herself with her production records. Sells open & ready for embryo production.

You are going to find immense quality all the way through this book, and there is absolutely no exception with the pair of RFS Heavy Hitter H45 x Kappes Sadie T635 Y302 daughters selling here. When it comes to sorting the offering for potential to generate high performance offspring, then both of these sisters will be ones on the top of the list. This homozygous polled and black purebred female ranks top 10% for both WW & YW, along with top 2% for REA.

RFS HEAVY HITTER H45
Sire of Lots 6 & 7
The second of the flush sisters is baldy faced and comes extra heavy and burly in her design, she is powerful in her muscle shape and spring of rib, and has donor cow potential written all over her. She covers her track with ease, and looks to share that same principle of longevity that her has made her mother’s tenure so long and potent for the WINC brand.

The next four females are what we envision when trying to breed for the next generation of females to carry the brand. These WINC Matter Of Time 249K flush sisters from the legendary Kappes Sadie T635 Y302 are the kind that carry the torch in our minds! WINC Matter Of Time 249K looks like he is going to sire incredible daughters, they are bold bodied, easy keeping and super cowy in their look. He is a son of the dominant, W/C Miss Werning 638D donor female, and was purchased for $37,500 in the 2023 “Profit through Performance” by Diamond M Cattle Company and Werning Cattle Company, with both programs continuing to utilize him heavily in their breeding programs.

The thoughts of the Bridle Bit Recharge K256 bull calf she is carrying has us scratching our heads, as to why she is being offered up for appraisal.

These four daughters of Kappes Sadie T635 Y302 add just another element of achievement from this legendary donor dam, she has proven that regardless of sire choice, she has the ability to generate cattle with added value. We think this combination with WINC Matter Of Time 249K may be just one of her most impressive matings yet, these four bred heifers are the kind you can build the cowherd around.

WINC 115D is the second opportunity to secure a female from the potency of the Remington Lock N Load 54U and ALC Treasure C50P mating. ALC Treasure C50P is a cow family that should be recognizable to friends of the program, as her daughters still form the backbone of the cowherd today, this is a linage that stamps their offspring with incredible shape, performance and real world, beef business quality. WINC 115D has never missed an opportunity to deliver the goods, with every year she has brought back an impressive calf to the weaning pen. Her son, WINC Surelock 447M was certainly a highlight of this year’s “Profit through Performance” and was purchased by George Seward of Colorado. The year before, the Plagmann family found her CKCC Relevant 0639H son to fit their demands for high performance herd bulls. Jeremy Moege purchased her 2022 born son, and the Goldammer Ranch trusted in a W/C Revolution 65G x 115D daughter to help build their Simmental program. She truly has been a low input, high output cow that has quietly been an absolute weapon in production.

F17 has a lot to offer a program that is looking for an outcross pedigreed, red hided, purebred donor female! She is a powerful beast in her body cavity, but one that remains so neat and refined about her front third. We love how bold her ribcage is, how wide her stifle and pin set sit, and how flawless she remains on her feet and legs. Several progeny of F17 have been highlights of the “Profit through Performance” over the years, with a daughter selling to Addison Cattle, and a son selling to Johnke Farms. Elegance, depth, volume, and production are all inclusive in this proven female. Regardless of the service sire in this situation, it reads as a recipe for success in our minds.

WINC MISS 2129K
Daughter of Lot 34 & Maternal Sister to Lot 35
WINC 3139L is the CKCC Relevant 0639H daughter of the incredible, ES F17 that you find on the top half of this page. This black hided version of the impressive matron reads with the same functional body type, perfectly hinged structural design, and high generating potential as her dam, yet she reads with some advantages from an EPD perspective. We have found the CKCC Relevant 0639H daughters to be consistently deep, sound, smooth, feminine, and maternal. These fundamental traits combined with consistency in production, is why we think is he a cowherd changer!

When you walk through the pens on sale day, SHCO Glenda 373G is certainly a female that will jump out and grab your attention because she is a big scaled, heavy duty, power cow! Raised on the northern plains, and built for the northern plains, she gets the job done. While those who come searching for a female that reads with performance on paper may look past this female, those who value ruggedness, dimension and burliness will certainly appreciate what they find in the flesh here. Her son WINC Fortress 4171M found lots of friends this past spring, and sold to Emeri Gottlob.

We love the added look and extension of the blaze faced, WINC 5141N. The R&R Testament J155 daughter from the SHCO Glenda 373G power cow is one that reads with a very bright, and high performing future. We think the versatility of pedigree and body type offers up a very exciting future here, particularly if she develops along the pathway her mother has, like we believe she will.

A young and productive Simgenetic breeding piece that comes from our good friends in western Nebraska, at Western Cattle Source. They live in cow country, where cattle aren’t babysat, and are forced to prove themselves with efficiency and longevity, and those are two descriptions that certainly fit the bill here. WCS Ms Rest Easy 2441K is built for the long haul, and also keeps in good flesh, while weaning a big calf. Her sire, W/C Rest Easy 752G is a past high seller from Werning’s that was selected by Western Cattle Source and Select Sires. W/C REST EASY 752G

Following her mother, WINC 5152N is the beautiful blaze faced, Mr W/C Trifecta 975J heifer calf that strikes an awesome pose with every opportunity that she gets! We love the balance and symmetry that this female has been blessed with, she is super maternal in her shape and pattern, and projects to be a sensational cow prospect. She came to the weaning pen heavy, with almost 800lbs. of adjusted weaning weight, that ratioed a 119 against her contemporary group. MR W/C TRIFECTA 975J

The utility value of females in their prime of production like WINC 880F is priceless, this proven matron has been a very impressive member of the cowherd. Her first born son sold the Brad Greenway, her and her second son to Brandon Riedel, she has more than certainly paid her way through her tenure this far, and has the aptitude to be a valuable breeding piece for her new program. Many customers of ours have purchased ES Surelock ZW15 sons over the years, but our best kept secret is the potency of his daughters!

WINC MATTER OF TIME 249K Maternal Brother to Lot 42
On November 22nd you will have access to all of the most dominate cow family’s that work for Windy Creek, and it would be amiss if Miss Werning 638D was not involved. She was the high selling bred heifer out of the 2018 Werning Cattle Production sale at $45,000. It was sure a steep investment to begin with, but we thought she was one of the most incredible females we had laid our eyes on to that point and just knew that she had to relocate to our program, whatever it may take. That significant investment to begin with has evolved into one of our leading pieces of genetic power, as regardless of the mating we expose this W/C Executive Order 8543B daughter too, she has sourced us with leading herd sire prospects and jaw dropping females. Most notably she is the dam of the trending, WINC Matter Of Time 249K that has a significant influence on the open heifer division of this sale. Here you will find a very valuable breeding piece in a OMF Journeyman J24 daughter of 638D. This homozygous black and homozygous polled matron checks all the boxes of evaluation that it would take to make the donor pen for WINC. We love her blend of power and poise, and the aura of quality she exudes. She comes bred up early with a pregnancy sired by R&R Testament J155, the success story begins on sale day!

This ¾ blood Simgenetic gem stems back to the maternal power of the GAF Blackbird Lady 1159 donor that has been stirring a storm up for the JWC brand. In their 2024 production sale, two daughters of 1159, one being a full sister to the dam of WINC 419M were sought after by the most serious of stockmen. The W/C Bankroll 811D daughter sold to Beitelspacher Ranches. We love the way that this female is constructed, her movement is fluid and effortless, and her capacious center third perfectly balances with either end of her skeleton. To top it off she sports a beautiful blaze face!

The mother of MEFC Jolene 4033M ET, MEFC Jolene 618D was the 2017-18 National Champion ChiAngus Female for the Becking & Melroe families, and has taken her promotion very seriously once entering the donor pen. This eye catching female comes from the industry respected, PVF Blacklist 7077 sire, and is a full sister to the Holt family’s very successful ChiAngus female from the 2024 show season.

There is a lot to like about this second ChiAngus female also, we admire her moderate frame, bold rib shape, deep flank, and ultra-complete makeup that offers tremendous fleshing ease and maternal function. This daughter stems from the influences of the legendary, TR Ms Katinka 3208N, a female that worked for the Thomas Ranch past her 20th birthday, and has been a strong foundation to the astute cowherd you will find north of Harrold, South Dakota. We love her pattern, she projects a super feminine look, but still packs a punch through her rear two thirds, if family tradition is anything to go by, then profits can be expected annually with her procurement.

A stout made brood cow prospect that reads very productive in her build and body style. We deem her flawless in terms of her skeletal design, and she looks to be the easy keeping kind that offers tremendous longevity. She is no slouch when it comes to her EPD profile either, with top 10% WW, and top 4% YW & ADG figures. This trend was also reflected by her impressive 115 WWR, and 750lbs. plus weaning weight.

Every single one of the females in the two groups of five replacement females has been raised, and developed alongside the females that will sell individually. They too have been registered with the American Simmental Association. You will find that they stem from the same sires and maternal lines as the rest of the offering, and offer up the same high growth, genetic backing you can expect from any purchase at Windy Creek Cattle Company!
