live locally TOWN OF DANVILLE Q U A RT E R LY N E W S L E T T E R
Message from the Town Council We love the summer days in Danville, surrounded by golden hills and blue skies, and we’d love to welcome you to the summer edition of our Live Locally Newsletter! We are happy to see so many events back to normal this year, and we have a new appreciation for sharing time with each other. Public safety is always a priority and, with that in mind, we introduce Zonehaven and how you can sign up for local notifications. Also, our Police Department shares a great neighbor story, and we talk about some programs provided by our Volunteers in Policing. Learn how our Maintenance Department is keeping Danville green for generations to come. We also discuss new legislation aimed at reducing plastic waste, and steps the Town is taking to help eliminate greenhouse gas emissions. Check on the latest progress on some Town-wide projects and, as we continue to move forward with the Town’s Housing Element Update, we recap where we are in the process of planning for a minimum of 2,241 new homes in Danville. Our business community continues to grow, we welcome several new businesses to Danville, and talk about some local award winners.
