Registration for Aquatics programs began on Tuesday, February 11. Please note that some programs may already be full
How do I register?
Online: Register online by setting up and logging into your account at www.danville.ca.gov/recguide. We encourage you to set up your account prior to the registration date. This will ensure that you receive the lessons you want quickly. For assistance, please call 925-314-3400.
In Person: Please come to the Danville Community Center at 420 Front Street open Mondays – Thursdays from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM and Fridays from 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
How do I select my child’s class level?
Please refer to the Swimming Levels table (at left) with qualifying age and culminating skills needed in the order listed. To move to subsequent levels, swimmers must consistently perform all culminating skills. Your child should enroll in the lowest level lesson that they cannot perform a culminating skill repeatedly. Sometimes, swimmers may need to retake lessons or repeat levels after prolonged periods without practice. Please note that if the wrong swim level is chosen, we will be able to provide a refund with Town credit only. Participant may be removed from a lesson and alternative accommodations cannot be guaranteed.
What if my participant cannot pass a swim test?
If your participant cannot pass a swim test, your participant will be asked to withdraw from the course. If you sign your participant up for a level that they do not meet the prerequisite for and cannot pass the swim test, you will only be refunded with Town credit.
What happens if my child passes the class, but I registered the child for the same level next session?
If there is space available, your child will be transferred to the correct level. Please contact the Danville Community Center prior to 1:00 PM on Friday to accommodate potential transfers.
Is it possible to make up a class that my child missed due to illness or vacation?
Unfortunately, there will be no make-up classes due to illness or vacation.
I am an adult. Can I take lessons?
Yes! This summer we have a very limited amount of private lessons for ages 8 and up. Please see table (at left) for prerequisites.

LEARN TO SWIM DETAILS
The Learn to Swim program offered by the Town requires the demonstration of specific skills for each level. To advance to the next level, a successful demonstration of all the listed Culminating Skill Assessment items is necessary. Additional skills are listed on our Lesson Certificate and may be used as prerequisites for progression. You can find complete skill charts for each level available online for review to assist in level placement. Participants are expected to be consistently proficient in most, if not all, the listed skills and be able to complete the Culminating Skill Assessment on demand to move to the next level. If a participant is unable to do so, the staff may recommend changing to a different level that matches the demonstrated skill set. Please see chart of Culminating Skill Assessment per level on page 6.

Directions :
1. Turn two paper plates over so the backside is showing. Paint the back of both paper plates a fun color of your choosing and leave to dry.
2. Once the back of both paper plates are dry, use a glitter paint pen to color the inner circle and leave to dry.
3. Once the glitter is dry, arrange jingle bells around the ends of both plates. Once the bells are laid of to your liking and with an adult’s help, use the hot glue gun to glue the jingle bells to the plates.
4. Once the jingle bells are dry, use a glue stick and apply glue to the rim of the front side of the paper plates (the side of the plates without paint). Glue the two paper plates together with the paint side with the jingle bells facing outwards.

RESIDENCY STATUS CLARIFICATION
Those living outside the Danville Town limits include residents of the communities of Alamo and Diablo, Alamo Creek, Bettencourt Ranch, Blackhawk, Bryan Ranch, Monterosso, Shadow Creek and Whitegate housing developments.
The program and facility fees cover a large portion of the actual costs, though Town of Danville residents also partially support the classes, events and facilities through their property tax assessments. Because of this, those program participants and individuals reserving Town facilities who live outside of Danville pay an additional non-resident charge. If you have any questions about this information, call 925-314-3400.
Special Notice to Alamo Residents living in the Alamo County Service Area: all Alamo residents are eligible to register for Town-sponsored programs scheduled at Hap Magee Ranch Park during the resident registration period. Alamo residents must call 925-314-3400 to register for eligible programs during the resident registration period.
