Welcome to the first

February is the halfway point between the winter solstice and spring equinox, so we are already experiencing lighter evenings, and the first bulbs shoots of spring are visible, it’s one of my favourite times of the year.

We’re already seeing a number of exciting community events being lined up for the year, and although we are all having to tighten our belts, please continue to support local businesses, community groups and events. Small businesses are our neighbours and friends, they are also facing financial pressures and need our support as much as ever.

When you spend money with a small business, they pay local staff and local suppliers, helping

to keep more of your money in the local economy, and this helps to keep our town vibrant.

In recent months, the Town Team has worked with Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council and the Federation of Small Businesses to launch the Tonbridge Business Forum. We have hosted three successful networking events, attended by a diverse mix of small businesses to exchange ideas and get to know each other.

Wishing you all the best,

Tonbridge Town Team

What is the Tonbridge Town Team?

The Tonbridge Town Team was established as a result of the Portas Review published in 2011. The main aim is help make Tonbridge a vibrant and exciting place to live, work, visit and do business. The team achieve this by linking together businesses, local government, charities, clubs and the population as a whole.

There are lots of organisations, businesses and individuals who are doing fantastic things in Tonbridge and so the team set out to work with them and celebrate their achievements. They can make even more of an impact on the town by encouraging innovation and entrepreneurialism, and by building on the community spirit that exists in Tonbridge and the surrounding area.

The town team’s vision is an inclusive one that values all members of the community and seeks to build bridges and enable all to prosper in the surrounding area.

By working together and concentrating on what we can do rather than what we can’t, by being open to new ideas and matching enthusiasm with patient resolve we can continue to make our community not just a good place, but a great place to live.
