About Us

The Luppitt Landscape Partnership (LLP) is one of 34 projects across England selected by Defra for development funding during Round 2 of Landscape Recovery.

The LLP is taking a holistic approach to nurturing a resilient, self‐reliant, ecologically‐connected valley around the village of Luppitt, covering a 20 sq km sub‐catchment of the River Otter in East Devon. The aim is to conserve and extend wildlife habitats, improve ecosystem function (soil health, hydrology and river function), address net zero objectives (eg. through soil carbon sequestration), and provide opportunities for education, training and community participation. These aims are being pursued in order to create better conditions for economically and environmentally sustainable farm businesses to continue and thrive.

The LLP is a new, landowner‐led Community Interest Company with directors drawn from the farming and landowning membership of the partnership, which comprises 55 holdings covering 1980 hectares in the Luppitt valley, including commercial farmers, non‐farming larger landowners and smallholders. The valley includes a large common land holding, owned collectively by the Luppitt Commons company.

The project development period began in spring 2024 and will run for 2 years. The LLP employs a project manager and administrator and a small team of specialists, funded through a development grant from Defra.

About You We are seeking an experienced and energetic individual with experience in finance, corporate fundraising, business planning, and farm business support. The successful candidate will:

• Work with the LLP team to plan for a blend of public, private and third sector funding to finance the implementation of a Landscape Recovery programme at Luppitt.

• Work with the LLP team to develop a suitable business model for setting goals, defining land management and other interventions, defining payment levels, creating contracts with landowners, and channelling finance from a variety of sources to these ends.

The Service caters for pupils in KS1 to KS4 who have a wide range of needs and were rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted in our Inspection in October 2023. It also provides teaching support in two hospitals, individual teaching, and shared placement provision for pupils in mainstream schools. Children are referred via a multiagency panel. The main work of the Service is to include and reintegrate into the child's original or another mainstream school where possible, or work towards a suitable long-term placement.

The Jigsaw Visitors’ Centre is looking to appoint someone to be Based in the prison setting of HMP Wealstun, you will lead a small team to deliver the family services in HMP Wealstun in line with the establishment’s requirements, which will involve the following family services: a welcoming visitor centre facility; play and children’s services, family engagement case work, and family support to families of prisoners

It is essential that you have experience of working with families, casework management experience, excellent communication skills, interpersonal and organisational skills. Additionally, you will need to have the ability to relate sensitively to the needs of prisoners and their families as well as having some knowledge of the criminal justice sector.

Technical Services Officer (Structural)

Officer (Structural) to support Technical Services Manager with leading and ensuring effective design and delivery of capital programmes and individual projects involving new build, extensions and remodelling schemes relating to schools, leisure centres, office accommodation, depots, care homes, listed buildings etc that form part of the Council’s portfolio of buildings and land.

Your key responsibilities as a Technical Services Officer (Structural) will be:

• To design/manage the performance for a range of capital projects involving multi-discipline and single discipline design teams, preparing new build, refurbishment, and remodelling building contracts.

• To act as the Councils Technical Authority in relation to its Built Environment and Assets, developing, implementing, monitoring, and amending technical specifications, strategies, practices, and standards to ensure compliance with all statutory requirements.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A relevant professional or academic qualification or extensive experience that supports the skills needed for Technical Services Officer (Structural)

• Strong IT skills with experience using a variety of packages such as Microsoft Office, AutoDesk, NBS, Tekla Tedds design packages. We need talented and ambitious people to join our team. If you are this person, we look forward to hearing from you.

Individuals must be able to travel independently to and from locations away from the office such as construction sites or consultant’s offices. In addition, individuals need to be able to visit construction sites, and be able to ascend and descend scaffolding as an example, on accompanied visits.
