We have an exciting opportunity available within the Highways Service at Sandwell Council based at Oldbury. We are seeking highly motivated, skilled and experienced Highway Engineer, ideally with bridge and structures maintenance and design experience to work within Sandwell’s Highway Maintenance Team.

The North East and Yorkshire Net Zero Hub has an exciting opportunity for a proactive and motivated individual to develop proposals and commercially investable business cases for local low carbon and renewable energy projects within the Tees Valley area.

Salary: £36,648 - £39,186 What you can expect to be doing: This is an exciting time to be joining Dorset Council, we are investing and strengthening our service to meet the needs of all unaccompanied children in and beyond our care. A new, dedicated team of Social Workers and Personal Advisers is being created. This opportunity is now available for social workers who are interested and passionate about offering the best service to unaccompanied children. Social workers will support children to receive a warm Dorset welcome, as they come into our care. Settling into homes where they can be offered the stability, care, and safety they need to adjust to living in the UK, develop their skills and transition into adulthood. You will deliver the full range of statutory responsibilities for Children in Care, under the Children Act 1989, as well as working within the Leaving Care Act 2000 and alongside Personal Advisors, when a child reaches 16. You will be working collaboratively with multi agency partners to identify and assess each child’s needs and reflect these and their individual strengths and aspirations within all aspects of care planning. There will be a particular focus on their health, education, and social needs, which will include supporting cultural links within communities and advocating for them to receive the best care and support.

You will be assisting the Group Manager Assets and Maintenance and Principal and Senior Engineers with: • managing a programme of general, principal and structure inspections of Sandwell's bridge stock • promoting planned and reactive maintenance • working closely with our supply chain and regional partners • providing technical advice • preparing written and verbal replies to enquiries as well as supporting in identifying and submitting external funding bids. This role is vital in ensuring that Council meet its obligations under the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, Highways Act 1980 and Traffic Management Act 2004 and ensure the safe and efficient movement of traffic and pedestrians within the Borough of Sandwell. As an Engineer you may have experience in preparing, checking or preparing design documentation for bridge works and the site supervision of Contractors during the implementation and maintenance projects.

You will be aiming to achieve permanence for our children ensuring triple planning is started early and clear to our children and those supporting them. In this role you will work closely with our legal service and the Home Office to progress our children’s asylum applications promptly.

The role plays a key part in the organisation and you will be taking responsibility for managing and motivating people and other resources to deliver the Council’s priorities and objectives, generating income, programme delivery, management reporting and instilling a culture of continuous improvement.

The Hub is a government funded, regional delivery organisation at the centre of the region’s ambitious efforts to drive a low‐carbon, clean‐growth future. Hosted by TVCA, it is one of five Local Net Zero Hubs in England that provide direct support to help local authorities develop net zero projects and attract commercial investment. The Low Carbon Pathways Manager will apply their knowledge, expertise and capability to work with Local Authorities and other strategic partners to originate and develop commercially investable renewable energy and low carbon projects that will drive forward local net zero plans. The successful candidate will have experience of working with energy/ low carbon technologies and/or with capital project development and delivery teams. North Tyneside Council is expanding its Schools and Public Buildings service and looking to invest in a highly motivated and knowledgeable Construction Planner. As the successful individual you will be providing expert advice and guidance on all building and construction related matters and undertake and provide detailed construction programmes. You will have extensive building construction experience, both in the practical application of the building construction techniques and relating to NEC and JCT contracts. ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER Salary: £41,418.00 ‐ £45,441.00 pa North Tyneside Council is looking for a highly motivated Building Services Electrical Design Engineer who will become part of the in‐house multi‐ disciplinary Design Team within the Housing and Property Services department of the Council to deliver the Authority’s Housing and Public Buildings statutory compliance related activity and capital works programmes. Working alongside our Building Services Mechanical Design Engineer, the successful candidate will oversee delivery of M&E design packages for the diverse programme of works generated by the Council over its owned properties and assets. This includes but is not limited to five leisure centres, seventy‐eight schools, alongside a range of libraries and museums.
