Main purpose

The core purpose of the Headteacher is to provide the vision and strategic leadership for the school and to ensure the school is effectively led and managed to meet its aims and objectives. They must establish a culture which promotes excellence, equality and high expectations for all pupils. Working with Governors, Orchard Community Trust and all staff, the Headteacher is responsible for the school’s performance, identifying priorities for raising standards and ensuring equality of opportunity for all.

Deputy Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer

Salary: NJC SCP 28-32 £34,723 - £38,296 dependent on experience (pro rata)

Hadley & Leegomery Parish Council plays a vital role in representing the interests of our local community and by working together, we believe we can improve the quality of life and local environment for everyone.

As a Council, we provide facilities including Hadley Community Centre, community events & activities, our innovative ‘Youth Zone’ and Hadley War Memorial.

We are looking for a CILCA qualified individual with previous experience of working in a Local Council setting, teamed with a ‘can-do’ attitude. You will have the ability to relate to, and communicate with staff, Councillors, members of the public and external agencies, along with the ability to demonstrate creative thinking when faced with changing situations and new challenges.

You will work closely with the Clerk to ensure that the Council acts within the statutory frameworks and guidance relating to the operation of Parish Councils. You will also oversee the financial management of the Council, taking responsibility for accounts and financial records. Duties will include deputising for the Clerk when necessary, council administration and committee work, project work and putting together reports for Council, financial management including Payroll, policy monitoring and supporting Parish Council events.
