Due to promotion of the current postholder, we are seeking to appoint to the key role of School Business Manager at St Mark’s Church of England Primary School. The ideal candidate will be an excellent leader with previous budget, HR, premises and staff management experience, and be enthusiastic in driving improvements in current systems, as well as implementing new business processes.

The role will involve preparing and monitoring the school’s budget, managing the outstanding admin and premises teams, maintaining the single central record and contributing at a strategic level to financial planning, staffing, personnel, systems and site management.

We are looking for an individual with experience of working managing finances at a senior level, preferably within a school environment. We wish to employ someone who can support and develop with the school’s ethos, is motivated, passionate about providing an exemplary service and can forge strong relationships with all stakeholders. The postholder will work closely with the Headteacher and deal with highly confidential issues. The role is varied and candidates must be adaptable and able to work at pace.

St Mark’s is a two-form entry primary school, currently with 419 children on role, located in the idyllic and historic grounds of Talbot Village. Our vision for the school is ‘Loving God - Serving others - Flourishing together’. In March 2018, we were again graded Good by OFSTED and Outstanding in our SIAMS inspection for a fourth consecutive time. The school is a standalone academy that works closely with four other academies as part of the Bringing Schools Together umbrella trust.
