Town Clerk & RFO

Salary Scale: LC3 Above Substantive / LC4 Below Substantive –SCP 42 – 49 (currently £48,587 – £57,199) (depending on experience and qualifications)

The soon to be created new Taunton Town Council is seeking to appoint an innovative, forward thinking, and proactive Town Clerk & RFO to not just lead the Council in achieving its targets and aspirations but to be a key part of the setting up of the Council initially.

Based in the County Town of Taunton itself, with a population of around 50,000, and an initial precept of £2.1m for 2023/24, it will be the largest Town Council within Somerset. A number of services and facilities will be transferring to the new Town Council upon vesting day on 1 April 2023, but the potential for more to transfer in the future is both likely and exciting.

The Town Clerk & RFO will initially be employed by the current Principal Authority and will work with a number of their key Officers in setting up this new Town Council and will then move to the new body when it becomes a legal entity on 1 April 2023. The new Town Clerk will then be expected to lead the new Council – working with the new Councillors to agree a Corporate Plan, as well as be responsible for ensuring the Council is up to date with policies and complies with all legal requirements associated with a Council within the sector.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they have relevant experience – a track record of service achievement and innovation, commitment to public service, be motivated, community focused, and possess sound managerial, communication and organisational skills. Candidates should have a sound knowledge of local government law and procedures. A Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) qualification is desirable, or a willingness to attain it within a reasonable timeframe.

As we continue to expand the Universal Crisis Team in Sunderland and South Tyneside, we are pleased to offer exciting opportunities for Community Practitioners to deliver care within the Children and Young People's Pathway. Main duties of the job: The team works within an ageless service, with the principal objective of offering assessment and home treatment to Children and Young People experiencing a mental health crisis, as an alternative to hospital admission. The post holder will have clinical expertise in assessment, intervention and evaluation in mental health care. The role will involve the psycho-social assessment of those who have presented in crisis. They will be required to provide specialist advice regarding mental illness to service users, carers and other practitioners.

The successful candidates will have responsibility for the effective management of a shared caseload of children and young people referred into the service. The service provides the following functions; urgent triage, assessment for people in crisis, home based treatment, facilitating early discharge from hospital, and supporting the coordination of Section 136 referrals. The service operates 24 hours a day, 365 days per year via shift working.

The Town Clerk & RFO will initially be employed by the current Principal Authority and will work with a number of their key Officers in setting up this new Town Council and will then move to the new body when it becomes a legal entity on 1 April 2023. The new Town Clerk will then be expected to lead the new Council – working with the new Councillors to agree a Corporate Plan, as well as be responsible for ensuring the Council is up to date with policies and complies with all legal requirements associated with a Council within the sector.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they have relevant experience – a track record of service achievement and innovation, commitment to public service, be motivated, community focused, and possess sound managerial, communication and organisational skills. Candidates should have a sound knowledge of local government law and procedures. A Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) qualification is desirable, or a willingness to attain it within a reasonable timeframe.

As a Maintenance Manager you will be responsible for the following:

▪ To work in partnership with Customer Management, supported by ESS Head Office Management, to achieve targets

▪ Ensure that all ESS Ltd. employees work in a safe and responsible manner and adhere to on site safety regulations and procedures

• Electrical qualification with strong mechanical knowledge

• Experience in a high volume manufacturing environment in some of the following: pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors

Askern Town Council is seeking to appoint an innovative, forward-thinking, and proactive Town Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer to support Councillors in achieving their aims and aspirations for the town of Askern.

The Town Clerk will have responsibility for ensuring that the instructions of the Council are carried out, work actively with the elected Councillors and be accountable for the effective delivery of Council services.

The post holder will also be responsible for ensuring the Council is up to date with policies, procedures, training, data protection compliance, the effective management of Council resources and produce all information required for Councillors to make effective and informed decisions at meetings, as well as being responsible for the proper administration of the Council’s financial affairs.

Prior experience in local government will be an advantage and a Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) qualification, or a willingness to achieve this within 12 months of commencing the role.

The post is part time, 23.5 hours per week – attendance at evening meetings and occasional weekend events will be required.

Salary in accordance with National Joint Council recommendations; pay scale LC2, points 24 – 28, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
