Belle Isle Tenant Management Organisation has landlord management responsibility for approximately nineteen hundred council properties in the Belle Isle area of Leeds. This temporary role is to support Belle Isle tenants cope with the cost of living crisis over the next 12 months. The work will involve helping tenants manage their debts, reduce their financial commitments, maximise their income and pay their rent and debts.
Your typical caseload would involve working with people to address their multiple debts and increase their budgeting skills. You will actively manage your own caseload, working with and on behalf of customers, triaging enquiries on an urgent priority basis and assessing whether to deal with it in house or refer for external support.
You will have frontline customer service skills; meeting customers and triaging their needs to assess quickly how best we can help and support them. You will have the ability to develop relationships with support agencies; Engage Leeds and Forward Leeds, reputable debt organisations like Leeds MIC and StepChange and charities like St Vincent’s.
You will have current practical knowledge of common welfare benefits and you will help tenants to claim benefits and research entitlement, liaising with the DWP and local authority as well as referral to employment support.

Kielder East Beat Forester
Kielder East Beat is made up of three woodland blocks totalling 10,766ha, managed for multi-purpose objectives, with a focus on maintaining the forest’s productive potential. The restocking programme is 100 ha per year and annual timber harvesting programme is around 50,000m3, predominantly from clear felling. This role is also responsible for the line management of a Beat Works Supervisor and a range of contractors.
The successful candidate will also manage our new woodland creation site at Monkridge.
Kielder CCF Forester
The Kielder CCF Forester is responsible for 3,000ha of CCF designated area, managing existing CCF stands through successive thinning interventions, conversion to CCF where existing stand characteristics are favourable and successional stand structure through understory manipulation.
They are also responsible for producing around 25,000m3 of timber per annum through thinning. The role requires understory vegetation management and associated under-planting where necessary. This role is responsible for the line management of a Beat Works Supervisor.
A key aspect is to focus on forest resilience, to liaise with Forestry England’s Resilience Team and to explore opportunities to develop our district approach to forest resilience.

This role requires an individual with determination and skills to build a competent employment team from scratch and continue to lead and inspire that team moving forward.

Time spent on council business varies weekly; hours currently set at 20 hours per week (review ongoing), in accordance with the business needs of the council.

Location and hours of work are flexible (within the needs of the Council). Remote working is possible for many aspects of the role
Salary is paid in accordance with the National Joint Council recommendations; starting salary is within NJC LC 3 substantive salary rage – SCP scales 37- 41 (£21.63 -£23.73 per hour). Starting SCP will be awarded according to relevant skills, experience and qualifications
Main Duties include:
• Advising the council and ensuring council compliance with legislation and best practice
• Attendance at council and committee meetings (weekly/evenings)
• Leadership and line management of council staff
• Overseeing council financial accounts
• Management of council recreational spaces (including allotments) and all council assets
Previous experience in local council administration and CiLCA qualification is desirable but not essential as training will be provided to the successful applicant.

Askern Town Council is seeking to appoint an innovative, forward-thinking, and proactive Town Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer to support Councillors in achieving their aims and aspirations for the town of Askern.

The Town Clerk will have responsibility for ensuring that the instructions of the Council are carried out, work actively with the elected Councillors and be accountable for the effective delivery of Council services.
The post holder will also be responsible for ensuring the Council is up to date with policies, procedures, training, data protection compliance, the effective management of Council resources and produce all information required for Councillors to make effective and informed decisions at meetings, as well as being responsible for the proper administration of the Council’s financial affairs.
Prior experience in local government will be an advantage and a Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) qualification, or a willingness to achieve this within 12 months of commencing the role.
The post is part time, 23.5 hours per week – attendance at evening meetings and occasional weekend events will be required.
