The Independent Conference and Review Team is a stable, experienced and knowledgeable team of professionals that has responsibility for functions such as Child Protection Conferences, Child in Care Reviews, LADO, Advocacy and Foster Carer Reviews within Telford & Wrekin. The service works closely with internal and external partners to support the achievement of positive outcomes for children and young people in their journey through statutory services in Telford & Wrekin. As one of our Team Managers, we will support you to develop your skills and knowledge when working with families using a restorative approach. To excel, you’ll need a social work qualification and registration with Social Work England. SCHOOL FUNDING SPECIALIST Salary: £33,782 - £37,890 per annum We are seeking a highly motivated School Funding Specialist to work in the Financial Services to Schools Team within the Education & Skills Division. The post holder will be responsible for delivering effective, high quality, traded financial services to schools and to provide support in meeting the Local Authority’s statutory Education responsibilities. You will also be expected to lead ad-hoc projects relating to school financial sustainability, the administration of grant funding and service improvement. The successful candidate will have strong financial skills, experience of multi-year financial forecasting, assessing financial sustainability, collating, analysing and presenting complex financial information. Equally important, however, will be the ability to engage and effectively communicate with colleagues and schools. Home Care Quality Assurance Manager This is an exciting new role within in our expanding team. Salary: £40,876 ‐ £42,821 per annum About Us and The Role We have an exciting opportunity for the right person to join the Treasury and Investments team at a time of expansion, when we will look after both the treasury function, and also a new portfolio of wider investments for Warwickshire County Council. The Treasury and Investment team manages and positions the council’s cash balances, making sure the right amounts are in the right place, at the right time. Whether that is in our bank account, invested with an external fund, loaned to another council or business, or on deposit with a 3rd party bank. This team deal with big numbers, we currently mange approximately £400m of cash and cash equivalents and £350m of debt; and it deals with big decisions, we are embarking on a new series of investments which will involve decisions around new investment of approximately £300m into businesses within the County over the next 5 years. About the Role An important part of the daily operations, this role supports the smooth running of the Treasury and Investment function, ensures reporting requirements are met and liaises with consultants and advisers. The role will also have a significant focus on project work, investment appraisal, implementation and monitoring, and delivery of the Investment Strategy. Future focused, this role is key in shaping the Treasury and Investment function. You do not necessarily have to have local government or public sector experience. This is a specialist role and the key experience necessary is treasury management and non‐treasury investment appraisal and investment portfolio management ‐ from supporting the high‐level governance arrangements through to the details of debt management.
