Drive is an intervention that works to protect victims of domestic abuse by challenging and changing the behaviour of high harm, high risk and serial perpetrators.

Hampton Trust has been appointed to deliver this intervention on behalf of Dorset Police in association with Dorset Police and Crime Commissioner.

As a case manager you will be allocated to areas in Dorset, although you will be expected to cover other areas due to staff leave for example.

The Case Manager will strive to make contact and work on a one to one basis with perpetrators whose victims have been identified as high risk at MARAC/HRDA or harmful and serial perpetrators through police avenues to pro-actively secure engagement, influence attitudinal and behavioural change and link to complementary services. To do this, the Case Manager will work with existing agencies in each area to implement strategic individual intervention plans to address identified needs and risks and promote understanding of the impact of abusive behaviours.

Throughout the intervention the Case Manager will work closely with the local IDVA service to review risk, feed into safety plans, and improve outcomes for all parties involved. The Case Manager will be responsible over the long term for delivering outcomes, working for typically 10 months to achieve behaviour change with each service user.

You will: • Manage a caseload focussing on high harm, high risk and serial perpetrators to provide an assertive, medium to long term service, based on thorough assessment and individual support planning.

• Maintain a proactive response to service users, continuously providing positive options for behaviour change throughout the service user’s time in the Drive project.

• Use a combination of motivational work, relationship building and a broad range of therapeutic skills to engage service users to address their abusive behaviour • Motivate and support service users to address the broad range of needs that may contribute to the risk that they pose to others or act as barrier for them in addressing that risk e.g. housing, substance use etc.

Registered Manager Salary: NJC pt 42-50 The Smith Foundation is a registered charity who run the William Henry Smith School which is a non-maintained residential special school for boys aged 5-19 experiencing complex Social, Emotional, and Mental Health challenges (SEMH). The Smith Foundation is a not for profit charitable organisation providing ‘Ofsted Outstanding’ education, therapy and care.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated, experienced individual, who has the appropriate skills to set up and lead our new children's home through to Ofsted registration and take on the role of Registered Manager. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience working as a Registered Manager, having achieved Ofsted judgements of ‘good’ and/or ‘outstanding’.

As this is a new home the successful candidate will be on board from the beginning and take a lead in shaping and developing the home; its systems, procedures and protocols. This would ideally suit someone looking for a challenge to succeed and an opportunity to progress their career and instil their own ideas, plans and visions whilst also promoting the ethos and vision of the William Henry Smith School.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of the needs of young people in care. They should have extensive knowledge and understanding of the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, the Guide to the Quality Standards, Ofsted’s Social Care Common Inspection Framework (SCCIF) and other relevant statutory legislation, guidance and good practice.

They will have experience in managing a team, at the same time maintaining a safe, happy working environment for all. They will have excellent communication skills and be able to deal with a range of professionals at all levels as well as the empathy to address concerns from the young people and their key representatives or families. They will be a highly motivated and effective person who can work with confidential data; organise and prioritise their own workload, working autonomously when required and be adaptable to work effectively as part of a team. Applicants should have a proven effective leadership style; excellent organisational and communication skills, discretion and a flexible approach.

The successful applicant will have: • Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Health & Social Care and Children and Young People’s Service or equivalent • Extensive background in working in Children's Residential settings • 3 years experience as a Registered Manager, having achieved Ofsted judgements of ‘good’ and / or ‘outstanding’ • In depth knowledge of the Quality Standards and The Children's Home Regulations 2015 • Good financial management • Proven track record in supervising and managing people • Excellent communication, organisational and record keeping skills • Be able to demonstrate exceptional attention to detail • A good understanding of SEMH children including effective strategies to manage challenging behaviour • Ensure that Quality of Life underpins all work with children & young people/families and fellow colleagues • Have the ability to develop positive and sustainable relationships with children & young people • Highly motivated and able to contribute to collaborative working • Be fully involved in the initial development stages and setting up of the registered Children’s Home • Be able to demonstrate resilience, motivation and commitment We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment.
