Team Manager (Senior Practice Supervisor) Grade L. £47,007 - £50,435 (which includes a 15% Recruitment and Retention package). We are seeking to recruit an experienced Team Manager to our Safeguarding and Care Planning Service. The service consists of 4 Teams, each with a Team Manager (Senior Practice Supervisor) and eight FTE Social Workers, including one Consultant Social Worker who will deputise for the Team Manager. The Safeguarding and Care Planning Service is responsible for providing a Social Work Service for children requiring Child Protection Plans, those who are subject to care proceedings and those who require permanency outside of parent’s care. You will supervise the practice and decision making of Social Work Practitioners whist developing the skills of individuals and the team. Your role will involve scrutinising performance and implementing any necessary changes to improve outcomes for the children and families with whom we work. It is essential that you have a Social Work qualification or equivalent, post qualifying training and be registered with the HCPC. We are looking to appoint a Senior Practice Supervisor to lead the work of one of the SGCP teams. You will have significant experience of practicing statutory childcare social work in a multi-disciplinary setting and managing Social Workers. We expect you to have demonstrable skills in delivering interventions with complex families, the ability to analyse and evaluate risk and feel comfortable in making justifiable professional decisions whilst working with reasonable levels of autonomy. We expect the knowledge base of applicants to demonstrate expert understanding of social work legislation, family court processes and statutory guidance, assessment and social work methodologies, ideally including systemic and relational approaches. You will be empathic, enabling and resilient with a ‘can do’, solution-focussed approach. Closing date: 18th March 2021.
