Salary details: £31,371 - £34,788 per annum We are currently seeking to recruit a Finance Specialist to provide support to South Hams and West Devon Councils. You will be experienced in providing a wide range of accountancy support, ideally within the Public Sector. The post holder will be expected to provide technical finance advice, interrogating and understanding financial information for both revenue and capital. Other duties will include budget preparation, overseeing budget monitoring, completion of government returns and Council Tax setting. The post holder will also play a key part in closing the accounts. You should be AAT qualified or working towards the final stages of the qualification and be able to demonstrate at least 2 years experience in an accountancy role. Barnes is one of four established Children’s Homes across the county. The ethos of the service is to provide children with a home from home experience in line with individual needs, and to enhance and promote the life experiences and independence skills of the young people. This will include supporting the young people in accessing local facilities. The Home is open 52 weeks a year and provides a service in a flexible way, based on the needs of the individual. This post attracts enhancements for weekend working (Saturday hours at 1.5 x hourly rate; Sunday hours at 2 x hourly rate) and overnight working (time and a third).
