University Square Wraps Up Construction Phase two renovations to the road by Sherman Hall began in December and continued through April 2020. Following the closing of College Street in 2019, the University set out to create a gathering space that will connect the campus and downtown Athens communities. This area will also introduce a ramp leading to The Quad, allowing complete access to a campus entry point previously inaccessible.
UNIVERSITY EXPERIENCES RECORD ENROLLMENT Fall 2019 brought record enrollment across the University. TWU welcomed 1,142 students for a 12.5 percent increase over fall 2018 enrollment. More than 450 new students joined the Bulldog family at the freshman, transfer or graduate levels. The retention rate of current students also hit a record high with 70 percent of freshmen returning for the second year.

TWU Ranks Highly in U.S. News and World Report Wesleyan performed highly in the 35th edition of the rankings, coming in at #16 for both Regional Colleges South and Best Value Schools. One of three Tennessee schools landing in the top 20, the Regional Colleges South ranking is among colleges in the region who focus on undergraduate education but grant fewer than half their degrees in liberal arts disciplines.
TWU Recognized as a Military Friendly School Military Friendly® released their 2020-21 list of Military Friendly schools, again naming Tennessee Wesleyan University to its annual recognition. The list is created each year based on extensive research using public data sources for more than 8,800 schools nationwide. Institutions earning the Military Friendly® School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey completed by the school.
