University Updates
University Square Wraps Up Construction
Phase two renovations to the road by Sherman Hall began in December and continued through April 2020. Following the closing of College Street in 2019, the University set out to create a gathering space that will connect the campus and downtown Athens communities. This area will also introduce a ramp leading to The Quad, allowing complete access to a campus entry point previously inaccessible.

TWU Ranks Highly in U.S. News and World Report
Wesleyan performed highly in the 35th edition of the rankings, coming in at #16 for both Regional Colleges South and Best Value Schools. One of three Tennessee schools landing in the top 20, the Regional Colleges South ranking is among colleges in the region who focus on undergraduate education but grant fewer than half their degrees in liberal arts disciplines.
TWU Recognized as a Military Friendly School
Military Friendly® released their 2020-21 list of Military Friendly schools, again naming Tennessee Wesleyan University to its annual recognition. The list is created each year based on extensive research using public data sources for more than 8,800 schools nationwide. Institutions earning the Military Friendly® School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey completed by the school.
TWU WELCOMES SKIP WHITE AS NEW CHAPLAIN
Tennessee Wesleyan welcomes a new Chaplain in the 2020 Spring term, as Rev. Skip White has joined the Bulldog family to lead campus spiritual life. Rev. White is an ordained elder in the Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church. He has pastored in a variety of unique appointments over the past 15 years before his current role as Senior Pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church and Chaplain for TWU.

Miller Hall Opens
The addition of the dental hygiene program required a new space dedicated to a state-of-the-art clinic and classroom space. With great support from donors, friends and the Athens community, our future dental hygienists moved into Miller Hall in January 2020. Along with the dental hygiene clinic, Miller Hall is home to a new space for residents formerly known as Campus View Apartments. Miller Hall is named in honor of the generous support from Mitch Miller, Athens resident and owner of the building.
