How it works: Family fun Host a Family Reading Picnic

A Reading Picnic is a fantastic way to make reading egg-stra special. This activity combines the joy of books with delicious snacks and cozy spaces—what could be better?

No matter the weather, your family can enjoy a reading picnic! If it’s warm, head outside for some fresh air and sunshine. If it’s chilly, build a cozy indoor fort for an adventure in reading!

What you need:

Meaningfulmeals

Ingredients:

1 ripe banana

2 tbsp peanut butter, almond butter, or sunflower butter

¼ cup granola, crushed nuts, or shredded coconut

1 tbsp honey or melted dark chocolate

Instructions: nana Sushi

1. Peel the banana and place it on a cutting board

2. Use a butter knife to evenly spread peanut butter (or your choice of spread) over the banana

3. Sprinkle granola, crushed nuts, or shredded coconut on a plate and roll the banana over it until evenly coated

4. Using a butter or plastic knife, cut the banana into bite-sized sushi rolls

5. Drizzle with honey or melted dark chocolate
