From the Artistic Director, Rick Fortney Happy Holidays and welcome to the 2013 – 2014 Season of Lorain County Metro Park’s and TrueNorth Cultural Arts. We thank you for attending tonight’s TrueNorth Christmas Concert. This year we have returned to Avon Lake’s United Church of Christ for the concert amidst the beautiful greens of their sanctuary. Shrek: The Musical continues through December 22nd at French Creek. We hope you will share in both of these events as we celebrate the season. Our TrueNorth Gallery has expanded to include art at Mercy, Health and Recreation Center in Amherst, our newest metro park! Please visit our galleries as you prepare your gift giving. All gifts are original art featuring over 40 local artists. Gifts range from cards, jewelry, photographs, paintings, ceramic, glassware, and more. The Galleries are open 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. daily, 7 days a week. French Creeks Gallery is also open for all performances. This month we are in the midst of a Patron Drive for the 2013-2014 season. Enclosed in your playbill is a patron envelope. If you have yet to be a patron this season, we remind you of the opportunity and need before the 2013 year strikes midnight. We could not do what we do without your support and dedication of time, talent and treasure. Thanking you in advance in whatever way you choose to participate and support us as we offer arts education and performance to our communities throughout Northeast Ohio. Here’s wishing you the happiest of holidays, filled with blessings for the New Year. May the Peace we celebrate this month fill your homes each and every day throughout the year.

appy Holidays from Your Lorain County Metro Parks! We hope you enjoy an evening of holiday music with the TrueNorth Chorale, Chamber Orchestra and Big Band. Enjoy the show! Be sure to grab an Arrowhead newsletter on your way out to discover dozens of programs we offer during the holiday season. Our staff has worked diligently to offer a variety of free and inexpensive programs for your family to enjoy. Don’t miss out on the Lorain County Tradition of Holiday Lights at Carlisle Visitor Center in LaGrange. Staff and local businesses strung together thousands of bulbs to light up a portion of our largest park reservation. The themed stations depict some of your favorite holiday movies. Holiday Lights is free, but we are asking for a non-perishable food donation for Second Harvest Food Bank. Holiday displays can also be seen at Lakeview Park in Lorain as well as right here at Miller Nature Preserve in Avon. Experience the “Wonders of Winter” in the beautiful conservatory. The conservatory is twinkling with holiday spirit and features a display with local artist wares. We have many other holiday programs for you and your family to enjoy throughout the season. For information on all of our programs be sure to visit our website at www.MetroParks.cc. We thank you for your continued support of Lorain County Metro Parks and wish you a joyous holiday season! Sincerely,

James E. Ziemnik, Director
