Necrophobia. You wouldn’t think so, but more people are affected by the first. Jerry Seinfeld said once that an average person at a funeral prefers to be in the casket than doing the eulogy. Given how many talks are delivered every day all over the world, it’s hard to determine the longest and the shortest ones, but there are two that are good examples. The shortest speech is the one with which George Washington opened his presidency. He wasn’t a fan of public speaking and he managed to deliver it in 135 words - that’s about one minute. The longest speech ever was delivered in the British House of Commons in 1828 - it lasted for 6 hours straight. 33
