Dear Members and Families:
I’m incredibly honored to begin my year as the Board President of Timuquana Country Club. I undertake the task with a keen awareness that we are building on more than a century of great leadership that has made us one of the premier clubs, not only in Florida, but the entire Southern region.
It is indeed a great time to be a member and a leader at Timuquana and we have so much to be thankful for. We are excited about the results and the feedback we have received from our most recent capital project renovation of the men’s and women’s locker room. Coupled with that, our golf course is in pristine condition, with continued improvements planned with the upcoming bunker restoration project. Not to mention our tennis and pickleball facilities have been greatly enhanced by the renovation of the Tennis house last year. Our last major capital project in the near term will be the construction of the new Golf Performance Center and Pickleball Facility. Standby for more details on that throughout the year. All of this has been achieved with thoughtful and careful strategic planning and disciplined fiscal management. The Boards that came before this one took prudent and thoughtful long-term measures to secure our Club’s present and future. The creation of an ongoing capital fund for major projects and maintenance of our physical planning facilities means our campus and facilities are state-of-the-art, beautiful and functional. All without the specter of painful assessments. The hiring and retention of top-tier management in all departments means our Club has the best of class club management and stays ahead of trends and ideas. The benefits of these leadership decisions are manifest in the great state of the Club today.
Our membership benefits from a vibrant mix of families that have enjoyed Timuquana for many years and generations and wonderful new members who show great appreciation for our Club and its traditions. Our growing waiting list is a testament to the great state of our Club, its membership and the extraordinary experience offered at TCC.
I’ve had the privilege of serving on the Board for more than six years, including two years as Golf Chair and one year as Club Secretary. During this time, I’ve learned a great deal through talking with and listening to my fellow members and their families about how they use the Club and what they value in their membership and experiences. I’ve also had the opportunity to talk with our employees and department heads about their priorities and goals. I consider my year to be not just a term of stewardship of our great Club, but an opportunity to continue to advance what is best for our members and the Club, and to take another step to secure the long-term future of the Club for ourselves and those who will come after us.
I’m excited to undertake this work, and I look forward to working with you to continue the great legacy of our Club and our extraordinary membership.
Respectfully,
Tom Bishop President
Our Business Team is continually striving to make your experience seamless, efficient and worry-free. We continue to look for ways to enhance and simplify our processes for you and are implementing a few features to help make this possible. In an effort to provide timely monthly statements and reduce paper and print waste, we will be adopting electronic monthly statements beginning July 1, 2025. This means your monthly statement, along with copies of your charge tickets, will be sent directly to you via email. If you have questions concerning charges on your account or you would like to continue receiving paper statements, please email Vickie Welch at vwelch@timuquana.net.
Additionally, we want to help reduce the potential for late fees, so we encourage members to enroll in TCC’s auto pay enrollment program. This safe and secure payment method automatically drafts your checking account on the day you select each month, so you don’t have to worry about missing a payment. To setup your account today, contact Vickie Welch at vwelch@timuquana.net.
As we are implementing these new features and services, we would also like to ensure the information we have in our system is accurate and up to date. As such, we plan to send out member data forms with the May monthly statements and we kindly ask that you complete these forms and return them to Vickie through email or by dropping them off at the Concierge desk. With this, we also would like to ensure we have accurate information for your dependents and request that you complete this brief survey. Lastly, we would love for you to email a picture/headshot of yourself so we can add that into our POS system to help our staff as they serve you at the Club. Please email photos to vwelch@timuquana.net.
THANK YOU FROM OUR BUSINESS OFFICE TEAM FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND ASSISTANCE

It has been a wonderful spring season so far for golf at TCC. The weather has been beautiful, and the course has been busy. Our golf team has enjoyed seeing you all on the course and assisting you in the Golf Shop with all of your golf needs.
We are looking forward to our annual Memorial Day Golf Tournament on Monday, May 26. This always promises to be a fun day on the golf course. Registration is currently open. Please see tournament details below:
• The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
• The format for this year’s event will be two best balls of the foursome.
• The golf course will open for regular play at 1:30 p.m., following the tournament.
If you have any questions, please reach out to the Golf Shop at 904.389.0477.
May 23 & May 24
Morning: 8 a.m.–12 p.m. | Afternoon: 1–5 p.m.

As a reminder, our Bunker Renovation will begin Tuesday, May 27. The renovation will span six weeks and include the following improvements:
• Replacing sand and grass faces (celebration bermudagrass on the faces; Same as fairways to maintain tighter cut).
• Holes #1/#11 fairway bunkers will be consolidated to one for better management practices.
• Holes #10/#12 will become more visible from the tee.
• Fairway mow lines will be closer to the bunkers where it is feasible.
• Two additional staff members will be added to help condition bunkers more frequently.
To help expedite the process, the course will be closed for three weeks following Memorial Day (May 27-June 16).
During the remaining three weeks of the project (June 17-July 3), we will operate with only the front 9 holes open to allow the construction team to complete their work efficiently. Since we will be closed for three weeks after Memorial Day, we will not be closed for the four days in August as we have in the past.
The project is expected to conclude with all 18 holes reopening on July 4, 2025.
During the construction period, we will have all 18 holes open for play on Father’s Day weekend, June 14-15, as well as our annual Fourth of July Golf Tournament.
We want to share a big congratulations to our tournament champions over the last couple of months. If you see these individuals around the Club, make sure you share your congratulations with them.

Last month Timuquana hosted the first-ever “Ros Pirates Cove Cup” in tribute to Roslyn “Ros” Volpe, a beloved figure who was an integral part of both TCC and FYC and cherished for her friendship, sportsmanship, and competitive spirit on the tennis court.
The evening was filled with fun, competitive matches, and after a hard-fought battle, Timuquana emerged victorious with an 11-9 win over the ladies of FYC.
Thank you to everyone who came out to support this wonderful event and helped ensure Ros was remembered and honored in a way she deserved!

The off-season is a great time for a tennis player to improve skills, stay in shape, and prepare for the upcoming season. Here are some things you can do to stay sharp during the off-season:
Private Lessons: Take one-on-one lessons with a coach to work on technique. The off-season is a good time to focus on specific areas such as groundstrokes, serves, volleys or footwork.
Drills and Practice: Practice your strokes (forehands, backhands, volleys and serves) with a coach, hitting partner or on a ball machine.
Play in Leagues: Join a TCC local summer league to keep competitive play alive.
Participate in Social Tennis Events: Engage in fun social games such as live ball or 105 to stay connected to the tennis community while also having fun.
Flexibility and Mobility: Incorporate yoga, stretching, or mobility exercises to improve flexibility and prevent injuries.
Rest and Recovery: If you’ve been playing a lot during the regular season, use the off-season to rest. This will help avoid burnout and prevent overuse injuries.
The off-season can be just as important as the regular season for overall improvement. It’s an opportunity to focus on all fitness and game development aspects!
Cost: $22 per 1-hour clinic, $33 per 1.5-hour clinic. Spots are limited and advance registration is requested. To register, visit CourtReserve or contact the Tennis Center at 904.389.4332.

As the Club strategically reviews its security procedures over the next few years, we have decided to take this opportunity to install a new upgraded access system at the Fitness Center that will be conveniently controlled through the TCC app. This mobile key system will give us a chance to extend the Fitness Center hours, allowing members more access that works around your busy schedules. We are excited to welcome Daniel Tirado as TCC’s new Fitness Director. Daniel is a certified athletic trainer, performance enhancement specialist and lifestyle coach holding a degree in athletic training from the University of North Florida. Prior to joining TCC, Daniel worked as the Director of Fitness at Grand Living at Tamaya where he led all aspects of the wellness program including group exercise, personal training, health screenings, developing wellness presentations and implementing injury prevention techniques. Additionally, Daniel worked as an athletic trainer for a number of physical therapy and orthopedic practices assisting doctors in rehab programs and patient care. We look forward to having Daniel join our already stellar Fitness team in furthering our members’ fitness and wellness needs.
As part of Daniel’s arrival, we are also excited for Tracy Markley to take over as Director of Group Fitness. With the goal of expanding to new and innovative small group training, Tracy will be able to channel her passion for fitness into developing new dynamic classes and establishing consistent specialty offerings, such as ladies self-defense, riverside Yoga, Pilates and Barre events, as well as women’s strength and development programs. The combination of Tracy’s remarkable group training background coupled with Daniel’s sports training and strength and conditioning experience should be a formidable team to elevate the fitness, wellness and health of our members.
