Below are some of the committees that you can get involved in: Ambassadors. The Chamber’s Ambassador program consists of an elite group of professionals who are strong Chamber advocates and highly visible volunteers in the Ahwatukee business community. These individuals champion, promote and support Chamber membership, programs and events. Ambassadors assist in member retention efforts, recruiting and mentoring new members. The committee educates current members, prospective members, new members about the services and benefits of membership. Ambassadors also assist at ribbon cuttings, business mixers and other Chamber events. Women in Business. The Ahwatukee Women in Business committee promotes and empowers women business leaders to achieve their personal and professional goals. They do this by providing programs
and opportunities in leadership, development, education and networking for women in business. The committee hosts luncheons and a speaker series as well as raises funds for scholarships and hosts Signature events to honor the business woman of the year. Working together, WIB can inspire, empower and help women throughout the community enhance their personal, business and career goals. Public Policy. T his committee of the Chamber promotes forums and events featuring political candidates and elected officials. You’ll often have an opportunity to meet them, ask questions, and perhaps even give them your opinion about important decisions that impact your business. In addition to reviewing candidates, committee members also share information on public policies and exchange ideas about the local economy and regulatory environment. Golf. The Golf Committee is responsible for planning and preparing the annual Chamber Masters Golf Tournament. This committee takes an active part in recruiting participants, soliciting sponsors, securing auction donations and preparing welcome bags. This event brings the enjoyment of
golf and networking together in one outstanding tournament with great prizes. Power Partners. The Ahwatukee Chamber sponsors networking groups that are designed for members to meet and do business together. Community business depends on local-business generation and this group offers an opportunity to make connections that can be an invaluable source of local commerce for your business. Toastmasters. The Toastmasters group practices public speaking to improve communication and build leadership skills. By learning to effectively formulate, express and sell your ideas to others, you open a whole new world of business possibilities. This group teaches you to be more persuasive and confident when giving presentations. You’ll even improve your one-on-one interactions with others.
