The Goshorns Step by Step March 2014

Our 1st month in Peru We were so very blessed to start off our time in Peru with the Iveys. They had so much patience, especially when Jennifer blew up their kitchen with a pressure cooker full of hot scalding soup:) It covered every thing, except Jennifer. The Lord was definitely protecting her. It took longer than we anticipated to find a home to rent, and the houses were a lot more expensive than planned. Again, the Lord blessed us with a home in our price range. It’s a little further out of town than we wanted, but to watch our kids play with all the neighborhood kids is confirmation that the Lord wants us here. Matthew & Katie are in a local school called El Camino. We’re not sure how much longer they will be in that school because we're talking about homeschooling them so that they would have a chance to be a bigger part of our work in Peru. A couple of weeks ago we decided to attend the church that we were at during our short term trips in ‘07 and ‘09. The church was packed, and to have everyone remember us & our names was very humbling. They couldn’t get over how much the kids grew. The Pastor asked us to come up front to speak (in Spanish), so Daniel spoke & he did very well. Then I felt the Lord push me to speak (in Spanish:)), so I walked over to the spot I stood when the Lord called us into missions & told them what happened & how the Lord used them & that little church to bring us to Peru. I know my Spanish wasn’t perfect, but they understood me. They later asked us to present some certificates to some lay pastors, and then they wanted us to sing HAHA! To my surprise Jennifer said OK!! What a sight that was:)

We’ve been finding our way around town, learning where to shop for meat, vegetables, etc. After some guidance, Jennifer is becoming a pro. At least we haven’t gotten sick yet. We now have a new member of the family. His name is Codie. Katherine was promised that when we got to Peru we would get a puppy, so she & everyone else are excited to have a dog again. We’ve gone almost 2 weeks with no internet. We haven't died, but I never knew how important it was until we had no other way to communicate. We love everyone of you, and are so proud to be members of the body of Christ with you.
