The Goshorns Step by Step Happy New Year! It’s past time to touch base with all of you. Katherine and I made a run to the jungle. While there we were put in contact with a family in need. The mother, her daughter and handicapped son had no food. We bought a little food and dropped it off late at night because we were heading back to Huancayo early the next morning. They surprised me when they sent us a video the same night thanking us. People continue to be amazed that Christians will help even when you don’t know them. As a lot of you know, we opened a restaurantcafé in order to give jobs to Venezuelans and Peruvians. Many of whom worked the streets trying to earn a little money. This has made a huge difference in their lives. This is also a place that can be used for meetings, studies and so on. We started leaving Bibles on the tables at the cafe with a note saying they're free. We're losing on an average 3 Bibles a day. That's a good thing:)) We just bought another 200 Bibles. The kids program was going very strong. The schools are off right now so the program will start back up when school does. Your generosity helped us to give every child and their parents food for Christmas. We were blessed to be invited to speak with a group of men in the men's prison. We were received with open arms and they asked if we can start something with these men. We’re in the process of
getting documents finished in order to enter. This can take a couple months. Pray that this all works out. We are in the process of preparing for a medical team in July. We will take them to a jungle town called Los Angles. We need a lot to fall into place in order for this to happen. We need for the unrest in Peru to come to an end. This was caused when the President suspended congress which gave him total power and many riots started. The president was then arrested. We just finished swearing in our 6th president in 6 years. The people are very angry. We are in need of people joining us in Peru through prayer support and financial support. The last page of this newsletter will explain how to do this.
We humbly thank you for your continued prayers and nancial support. If you haven’t yet, we ask that you would prayerfully consider financially supporting this ministry in Peru. Without more financial partners this ministry can not continue to grow. We love you all and thank you for being part God’s work in Peru.
