June 2025

We’re working to build the most trusted entertainment platform in the world, and the safety of our community is the foundation that makes this possible. Here are some of the steps we’ve taken this quarter to create a platform built on safety, privacy and transparency.
Showcasing our commitment to sustainability
At TikTok, we’re committed to mitigating our environmental impact, while also using our platform to raise sustainability awareness. As part of this, we’ve partnered with Scope3 to provide clients with a measurement solution for end-to-end emissions of an ad’s delivery and have launched a Sustainability Playbook to outline our holistic approach to sustainable advertising.
Introducing the Brand Safety & Suitability Playbook
This go-to guide is designed to help today’s brand marketer get the most from TikTok’s Safety Suite, including our two new brand suitability controls, and features practical tips on activating our full range of solutions.
Continuing our commitment to mental health well-being
We're expanding our Meditation in Sleep Hours in-app feature to our entire community, encouraging healthier digital habits. This feature helps interrupt late-night scrolling with guided meditations. We’re also launching the 2025 Mental Health Media Education Fund, donating $2.3M in ad credits to 31 organizations in 22 countries. 3
Strengthening data privacy with Project Clover
We’re proud to share a significant step in our ongoing commitment to data security in Europe by establishing our first presence in Finland. Through a €1 billion investment, a new data center will be built in Kouvola by local developer HyperCo Oy.
Testing
Footnotes in addition to standard content policies and fact-checkers
We are testing Footnotes in the US, a new feature that will give our community more context about content on TikTok. Footnotes will draw on the collective knowledge of the TikTok community by allowing people to add relevant information to content on our platform.
Important: Footnotes are not a replacement for fact-checking. Our investment in content moderation remains unchanged.
Hosting Responsible Media Forums
We’re convening top brand and agency leaders for closed-door, candid exchanges - fostering honest dialogue, insights and feedback on the evolving challenges and opportunities shaping responsible media today. The first event happened in NYC and next will be in Cannes.
