Hilton Unveils New Hotels across Europe, Middle East & Africa for 2022 H OT E L OP EN I NGS As new hotels prepare to open in some of the region’s most coveted destinations, Hilton provides bucket-list inspiration for travellers With the world’s globetrotters eagerly looking to make up for lost travel time, Hilton has revealed some of its most highly anticipated new destinations for 2022. And with more than 75 new hotels planned across Europe, the Middle East & Africa in the coming year, there is no better time to plan next year’s jet-setting adventures.

Iceland Parliament Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton The Iceland Parliament Hotel will be a complex of seven rebuilt and new buildings at the doorstep of the Icelandic parliament – Alþingi. Surrounded by three different squares, close to the cathedral, city hall, and the upcoming harbour area, the hotel has been granted a key location within the city’s most high-profile zone. The hotel will offer state-of-theart meeting and conference facilities, an executive lounge, a fitness room, a spa area, café, bar and restaurant.

Conrad Rabat Arzana Featuring 120 spacious guest rooms, Hilton’s first luxury hotel in Morocco will offer spectacular ocean views from its elevated waterfront location, overlooking a tranquil lagoon and beach. Guests will be able to experience breath-taking surroundings while enjoying locally inspired food and beverage at two unique restaurants. The hotel will also offer a fully appointed spa and salon as well as 600+ square meters of event space that includes a grand ballroom and four meeting rooms.

Conrad Chia Laguna Sardinia Conrad Chia Laguna Sardinia will have 107 guest rooms, each featuring a private garden or terrace, with the majority offering panoramic views of the entire Chia lagoon. La Terrazza restaurant will feature outdoor seating and iconic views of Chia Laguna. Sa Mesa, meaning “the table” in local Sardinian dialect, will be the hotel’s signature restaurant offering authentic Sardinian cuisine and an extensive selection of local wines from small local producers in an informal trattoria style setting.

Bar Bollicine will serve as the hotel’s all-day bar and lounge, where guests can enjoy an extensive collection of champagnes and proseccos, as well as cocktails with a modern twist. The hotel’s Conrad Spa will also offer six treatment rooms, a spa bar, a yoga studio, and a state-of-the-art gym.

Lost Property St. Paul's Collection by Hilton

by Hilton will be Hilton’s first location on the glamorous Greek island of Santorini. The 37-room hotel draws inspiration from Santorini’s iconic blue and whitewashed architecture and incorporates the island’s rugged natural beauty with stone walls and organic wooden textures. Each room will boast private terraces and a hot tub or pool. Guests can choose from two restaurants and two bars for a relaxed bite to eat or cocktail, with two of the outlets being located on the resort’s private beach.

With two pools, a spa, fitness facilities and loungers by the beach, guests can alternate between working up a sweat, getting pampered, soaking up the sun, and cooling off in the water.

Lost Property St Paul’s London, Curio Collection by Hilton, will open this spring to offer stunning views of St. Paul’s Cathedral and the City of London. The six-story hotel will offer a charming restaurant for guests and close access to some of London’s most visited tourist attractions.

Hilton Dubai Palm Jumeirah Located on the iconic Palm Jumeirah, this upscale hotel’s beachfront location makes it a destination of choice for those looking for a relaxing getaway. The Samuel Ryder Hotel St. Albans, Tapestry Collection by Hilton Located inside a city with 2,000 years of history at every turn, The Samuel Ryder Hotel St. Albans, Tapestry Collection by Hilton will become the first Tapestry-branded hotel to open in the UK, offering 60 guestrooms designed with a simple aesthetic to capture the original administrative and utilitarian function of the building. Created and built by the Ryder family in 1911, the building acted as the headquarters of the Ryder & Son Seed business.

From this building, a world-wide company was forged by the importing and exporting of seeds sourced from across the globe. The overall design of the hotel will take a playful approach to the early 20th century with dynamic artwork and contrasting colourways, all inspired by the natural botanics of Ryders’ Seeds.

The hotel is set to open in December 2021.

Hampton by Hilton Doha Old Town Situated in the Old Salata district, Hampton by Hilton Doha Old Town will feature 221 modern

guest rooms, an all-day dining restaurant, juice bar, 24/7 snack bar, work zone and fitness centre. It will be conveniently located close to Doha attractions such as the corniche, the Museum of Islamic Art, the National Museum of Qatar, and the famous Souk Waqif. It will also be in close proximity to the banking district and the Emiri Diwan Palace, and just 12 kilometres from Hamad International Airport The hotel is set to open in early 2022.

Waldorf Astoria Kuwait The 200 luxury guest rooms at the new Waldorf Astoria Kuwait will be just feet away from worldclass shopping and dining, thanks to its location in Avenues Mall — a destination with more than 1,100 shops and a movie theatre. The hotel will also be home to the award-winning Japanese restaurant concept ROKA and will feature an exclusive Club Lounge as well as an awe-inspiring 13,560 sq ft Waldorf Spa. Kuwait City Centre, historical and cultural sites, and the Grand Mosque of Kuwait are just a short 15-minute drive away.

Knight Frank sells Luton Hoo Hotel Historic 5-star hotel sold to The Arora Group H OSP I TALI TY NEWS Global property consultancy Knight Frank has sold Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa on behalf of Elite Hotels to The Arora Group.

The 5-star 228-bedroom Luton Hoo Hotel Golf & Spa is set within 1,000 acres of gardens and parkland and includes a Grade I Mansion House, a bespoke built conference venue, an 18th century country club and golf course designed by Sir Robert Adam, three restaurants with two AA Rosettes, 23 function rooms, along with a spa, gym and indoor pool. It is located within 32 miles of central London, situated minutes away from the M1 motorway.

Steeped in history, the estate was once visited by Sir Winston Churchill during the Second World War, with 110,000 people gathering to show their support. Additionally, in 1951, the property hosted the exhibit of Sir Julian’s art collection, including several items of the now famous Faberg collection.

Originally known as a specialist airport hotel owner operator, the Arora Group established their first city centre hotel in 2017 with the opening of the InterContinental London – The O2 and most recently has diversified further into the country house hotel market with the opening of Fairmont Windsor Park. The purchase of Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf and Spa continues the journey of portfolio diversification, and the hotel is well positioned to capture the significant pent-up demand from leisure and corporate travel from domestic and international markets.

Multi-award-winning restaurant group San Carlo will bring its critically-acclaimed concept Cicchetti to Knightsbridge in April 2022. The latest in a series of growth moves for the family-owned group, the new opening will be the 25th restaurant for the group, the third Cicchetti in London, and follows the critical success of the brand in Piccadilly and Covent Garden, and the recent opening of Isola in St Christopher’s Place last month.

Open seven days a week and offering contemporary Italian dining, the menu – as the name suggests – will offer an elevated and refined take on cicchetti, the authentic Italian plates typically served in traditional b cari (informal bars) in Venice.

Designed to be shared, dishes showcase the freshest seasonal ingredients, mostly sourced straight from Italy. Alongside a selection of new signature plates unique to Cicchetti in Knightsbridge, the menu will

a range of fresh pasta – such as the much-loved truffle ravioli served at Cicchetti Piccadilly and Covent Garden – and pizza, fish and meat-focused carne plates. A wide selection of Italian wines, prosecco, spirits and cocktails will also be available.

Located on Hans Road, adjacent to Harrods, and spread across two storeys, the 286 metre- space will feature a 100-cover dining room, a private dining room seating 18, and a standalone bar. The interiors, by London and LA design studio Fettle, will be inspired by classical Venetian architecture and the work of some of the city’s most influential residents such as Carlo Scarpa. Expect considered finishes, traditional materials and quirky touches to evoke the water taxis and luxury yachts synonymous with the region.

Lindeth Howe Hotel Welcomes HRH The Earl of Wessex For Dinner

HRH The Earl of Wessex and Forfar KG GCVO attended at Dinner at Lindeth Howe Hotel on the 27th September 2021, hosted by Sir Norman and Lady Stoller to celebrate the Champions’ Challenge 100 marking the Centenary of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh.

A group of Challengers were led on a 10k Trek around Rydal, Grasmere, and Alcock Tarn returning along the side of Red Nab to Rydal Hall by Duke of Edinburgh Award Assessors, Caroline McCann and Natalie Wilson, and accompanied by Sir David Templeman Adams, renowned explorer who has summitted all 7 of the highest peaks on each continent, walked to both North and South Poles, and flown across the Atlantic in a hot air balloon.

The challengers all raised funds so that a total of £100,000 was raised which all goes towards giving young people around the world a chance to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme which he founded in the 1950’s.

Sir Norman welcomed everyone to the Lake District and introduced Sir David who described how he became involved as a young teenager in the Award Scheme and how it influenced his life and career. He then introduced a presentation from Anish Luitel, a High Altitude Climber from Nepal, Scout Leader and D of E Gold Award Holder, who explained how the Award Experience motivated him to the a High Climber and has, so far, summitted Mount Everest from both the South and North sides.

HRH The Earl of Wessex, thanked everyone for their ongoing efforts in supporting the Awards Scheme and how he had seen and been reminded of the effect that participation in the scheme that has so positively affected the lives of many youngsters around the world.

Stephen Broughton, MD of Lindeth Howe and Mountain Goat Tours, said that it was a privilege to be part of the Awards Scheme and even the Lake District weather smiled on the group giving them spectacular views as well as a sense of achievement.

Because we believe in helping the planet by being more attentive to ecological matters, we are determined to concentrate our energy on offering new eco-friendly products. The market for feminine hygiene products is increasingly demanding more environmentally sustainable options, and biodegradable sanitary pads are substituting the traditional ones. Obviously, a biodegradable sanitary pad cannot be placed in a plastic bag, so Packing90 has included a new refill with COMPOSTABLE BAGS in its range. The recycled brown packaging also matches the ecofriendly characteristics of the product.

Boxes contain 24 refills of 25 interleaved bags each.

In addition, Packing90 continues to update its dispensers finishes in order to meet every need.

Apart from the standard white, chrome, satin gray, and matte and glossy black, other colors can be

requested in small quantities. Customized products are also becoming increasingly popular, and Packing90 is able to satisfy unique requests.

Half-Million Pound Investment in The Oak Tree, Norwich H OS P TI ALI TY NEWS The Oak Tree, Norwich has opened its doors to guests once more, following a £500,000 investment.

The fresh, new look for The Oak Tree marks a new chapter in the pub’s history and sees ten jobs created in the local community.

Sports available across five large TV screens in their comfortable bar area. The pub has an extensive drinks menu which includes a selection of ales and a Gin of the Month special to enjoy in front of the wood burning stove in a cosy wingback armchair.

After a short closure, The Oak Tree reopens with a brand new, delicious menu. There is something to delight every day of the week with traditional afternoon tea available daily between 12:30 and 4:30pm. On Sundays, The Oak Tree is now serving Sunday roasts with all the trimmings and bottomless Yorkshire puddings. Food is served from 10am to 9pm daily, making The Oak Tree the perfect place to pop in for lunch or dinner any day of the week.

The new look Oak Tree has a modern-rustic feel with bags of character. From quiet, secluded nooks to the light and airy conservatory and buzzing bar area, there is the perfect spot for every visit. Personal touches can be found everywhere you look, whether it is a quirky feature wall or the eclectic collection of tableware and furniture; perfectly curated to ensure both form and function are top priority. As Christmas approaches, the cosy-factor has been dialled up to 100 with twinkling lights and festive touches at every turn.

Clarity Hotel Manager M OR E T H A N J UST AN OTH ER P M S When The Lowy Group spelled out their connectivity wishes for their 3 Brighton hotels, Clarity was able to respond in a timely and cost-effective manner.

“Connection” is Clarity’s middle name and is a core skill Clarity has applied continually over the 25+ years of providing software to the Hospitality industry.

Recovering from the dark days of COVID, the group decided that building closer Guest relationships is the key to rebuilding business. After looking at options, they were impressed with the whole range of contactless guest experience capabilities that the Criton Guest Engagement app offered. Extending that with the Inspire loyalty system to encourage repeat bookings was logical.

Being the PMS provider for the group, it was natural that the Queens Hotel contacted Clarity to see how difficult and expensive it would be to integrate these systems.

Clarity was already in discussion with Criton and integrating Inspire was relatively simple given the extensive in-built architecture of Clarity Hotel Manager.

Both integrations were achieved at ZERO cost to the group.

The positive experience with Clarity encouraged the group to also upgrade their E-POS system to that provided by Clarity and to commission integration to their Sage Accounting system.
